Crappy app. Very fickle, does not play with drag and drop from the Mac Color Picker or other apps (actually it does one time out of ten.. so I guess it's meant to ? But just does not work). Basically it's an "autistic app. I'm on a Mac.. I want my apps to integrate, not to play on their own. It can import color sets fine like CLR files, but I want a simpler drag&drop approach to work well. Plus the interface is not that great, it looks a bit "toyish" really. PS: Tangerine was sooooooo good, but unfortunately the dev let it die, same with ColorSchemer. The only two apps IMO that got things right. PS: This "color apps" area is really lacking.. Which is odd considering the Mac is the platform of choice for people working with color amongst other things..I wish some dev would make something that has possibly an interface the like of ColorSchemer and a menu access that can float on top of other apps when need be.

The version that's available for download here is version 2.1.2, rather than 2.1.3.

I must confess to not being an expert on these things. Anyhow work has a CYMK colour swatch for certain text. So I have this in a file in illustrator. I got excited by this app as it would make it very easy to have that colour available in any open illustrator file instead of faffing around. (yes I could save it in illustrator swatches) Sadly it picks up a totally different set of numbers. So I am not confident in using the swatch its generated even though the colours would appear to be the same. I am not criticising the app, I guess there are a myriad ways to get to the same colour. But where total accuracy is concerned I don't see how this works.

I was trying to match up text colors with a picture and then I remembered I had downloaded Swatch a few days ago but hadn't tried it yet. Opened and immediately asked for license code with a 'not yet' button. Whatever, I've seen it before. Then it tells me there is an update. I update and install. I get that '15 days remaining'/'not yet' window again. A bit annoying. Then I get to using the app. Within 3 clicks, I have the exact color from the picture copied to my clipboard. Bought it right after.

I'd really like to buy this little app, but I absolutely don't want to have to create a PayPal account in order to do it! I certainly hope the developers (who don't seem to have a contact email address) change their PayPal store so that buyers can simply use a credit card to make a purchase.

Sounds okay, but without screenshots (even at the dev's website it doesn't show me what options the little drop down menu in the top right corner gives me) or any mention of the colour spaces it works in, I'll have to temper my enthusiasm.

I've used Digital Color Meter and an "app-ized" version of the default OS X ColorPicker, among others, but this is what I've been looking for. Call me crazy, but I like menu apps -- one less thing to have to find and launch when I need it, so they fit well into my workflow, regardless of which app I happen to be using now. The price is fair, too -- $5 is less than the cost of a sandwich, and something tells me I'll get plenty of use out of it. Tested and bought. (And on impulse, I also picked up the company's other app, Snippet, which may finally wean me away from using Stickies).

Why is it when I go to view the "Help Docs" on the author's page, I get "404 not found?" This is not a good thing.

I see the advantage of this product. At least it's big enough to see. In PS2, it's so hard to see the swatches panel. I would like to know how I can use this while running PS2, especially with the eyedropper tool. Any suggestions?
