sendITt is one of the best software purchases our office has ever made -- it's that good. Our office uses a postage meter with an attached scale. It's easy to weigh a mail piece and manually input the weight and other required info into sendIT, have the program calculate the postage from a menu of mailing options, and then print out the label, complete with delivery confirmation info, from our laser printer. We then just paste the printed label on the mail piece with a glue stick, stick on the postage meter label with the correct postage, drop the piece in the mail, and DONE. Tracking info is saved automatically. No more time consuming trips to the Post Office just because we need delivery confirmation for a mailing piece. The resulting postage savings are a nice bonus. We also use the address confirmation feature of the sendIT quite a bit -- it's easier than looking up the same info on the Post Office site. We were just about ready to look into installing a Windows component into our all Mac office -- so that we could use the USPS online delivery confirmation services without having to go to the Post Office -- when we came across sendIT. Our 20-year record of never using Windows in our office can remain unblemished. Thanks!

We have a new Beta that prints to 4x6 labels (Specifically the Dymo 4XL, but it should work with any 4x6 label printer. Please email me if you have a 4 x 6 shipping printer and would like to try this Beta.

I have been a satisfied user for about 2 years. Until recently, I had been inserting parcel weights manually. I recently purchased a DYMO M25 USB scale and found it did not interface with the program as I had hoped. When I contacted the developer to see if they could help out, they responded that they would take a look and see if something could be done. The developer spent 4 days working with me and finally rewrote the program so that the scale worked. It works perfectly and I could not be more pleased. So now I have a great program that works with my particular scale and a developer I know will make the extra effort to ensure customer satisfaction. Buy this program with complete confidence.

Nice to see the update where the shipping notification email is emphasized (and shows automatically if data is in the field) -- it could be easy (before) to forget that an email that had been used with a prior shipment was maintained by the software and so accidentally used in shipments coming after [especially between sessions] -- those people would get confused why they got package shipping notices!. Today's update will help us avoid that embarrassment. This program continues to get tweaks and improvements -- it is greatly appreciated.

This is a good alternative FOR PACKAGE mailing -- for us doing low volumes or who just want to avoid another monthly service fee or the need to invest in pricey labels and printers. This seems to me to be a GREEN alternative to some other methods. There are alternative subscription mailing services that charge recurring monthly fees -- like stamps.com ($16/mnt if you really want to use a PC emulator!) or endicia.com ($16/mnt) Subscription services may prefer & in some cases require that you use special "label" stock, and pre-purchase postage that you may lose after printing or damage in the printer -- sometimes non-refundable. The label stock itself is for subscription services is not free and must come from the provider. You can't always just use your normal home printer -- so carefully add all the costs when you make considerations of one method to another. Ourselves the convenience of doing USPS click & ship with their automatic discounts does satisfy most of our PACKAGE shipping needs -- however sendIT is a valuable bridge I would not want to burn especially concerning small packages which would not be as cost effective if we just upgrade small shipments up to the smallest flat rate option, which costs currently $5.15 (retail) a pop. Not every package you ship should cost a minimum of $5.15 but that's the only on-line click and ship option open to many of us. SendIT opens that up to us and gives us more options. Currently USPS does not give us the ability to print all types of postage (like first class for small packages). For our smaller packages using sendIT provides to us a significant cost savings, and it is a great time saver as we can prep those packages and pre-stamp them before we leave to take all our collective shipments to the PO. Many times in the past we would put small packages into the small flat rate just to avoid standing in the PO lines (with USPS click a& ship you drop off and don't need to stand in line typically). Our postal clerk has gotten so used to the accuracy of our packages since we have been using SendIT that we can hand them over and she just takes them -- besides the handing to the clerk it is almost as fast as the click and ship portion! Versus just going directly to the PO, you not only save the time of waiting in line but also on fees such as on delivery and signature confirmation -- these can really add up if you use them and most of us shipping packages do these days. You have to put actual stamps on your packages or wait in line to buy postage -- no postage will print out from SendIT. We handle that by pre-buying some bigger unit stamps (like the $1 kind) and some smaller units and pre-afflix at home, if we were to not have postage -- the PO clerk can just scan the label and know exactly what to collect from us! In our case, we save a couple of bucks using SendIT versus just sticking it into a flat rate envelop each time we have used it -- so the software paid for itself fairly fast. SendIT can be a valuable alternative to get your packages out the door and delivered when snags occur with USPS. USPS simply has gone down a couple of times on us during the last year -- a program like SendIT is helpful to bypass USPS when it can't do the job. SendIT confirms addresses and has has at times had better address handling results than the on-line USPS system; we have had the personal experience of having their system refuse to make a label to an addresses the customer had for 15 years -- but that was not the case with SendIT, the address went right thru and our happy customer got their coffee when we switched their package into SendIt software! Works with some USB scales -- we have always used it in manual mode with no problems -- but nice to know that option is open to us. The software keeps a copy of tracking and of your actual label, so you can re-print or have a "receipt" -- can interface with your Apple address book, and there are some other features thrown in that I never used and don't remember but it is a well thought out "one trick but an outstanding trick pony" I found a few minor things very early on, emailed back and forth with the developer who did respond and eventually took care of matters in one release fairly quickly and another which was nothing serious and resolved that in a later update. I have been using it since October 2011, so now have had experience with it some 4 months. I would buy it again, and wish I had incorporated it into our system a few years ago instead of months ago. It's stable, has a developer who does communicate and keeps it up to date, you can obtain savings using this software you can't by going to the post office, it's a good back up to relying solely on USPS on-line if that's all you happen to use at this time -- a niche filler for those of us who ship PACKAGES. The MacUpdate rating system for some reason froze my stars -- guess they froze when I went in to write -- I'd give it all 5 stars if I was allowed to :)-

Just a quick update. We are working on a new build (free update) that will add support to print to two dymo 30256 shipping labels instead of one half letter size label. We also have support for the Dymo s100 and s250 shipping scales. Better Apple Address Book integration. Option to print postage cost on the label. Stay tuned!

Sorry guys. UPS support is being abandoned at this time. "Thank you for your interest in the UPS Ready program. UPS has reviewed your application and has made the decision not to provide you access to our tools at this time. The UPS Developer Kit is designed primarily for end-user customers to utilize when creating their own customized UPS shipping solutions. As such, we do not allow the use of our technology in multi-carrier and/or rate-shopping applications. UPS is very selective about the companies we authorize to use our technology, as we view them as an extension of our brand. Therefore, we screen applicants and seek to understand both their business model, and how UPS will be represented in their applications/platforms, as well as attempt to gauge the sustainability/customer support capabilities of the company in question. Thank you again for your interest in the Program. Regards, UPS Ready(r) Program Management"

Due to immense popular demand we are slowly working on adding UPS shipping. If you would like to participate in testing this then please contact me using one of the methods on my web site. The current beta does nothing more than display UPS rates alongside USPS rates. You can only create USPS labels. PLEASE NOTE - You MUST have a UPS account to participate. You can sign up with UPS for free. You also need to create an access ID with UPS, again free. Once UPS support is fully functional I will be raising the price of the application, or possibly having a regular version and a version with UPS as well. I appreciate any feedback on either of these routes. I'd love to offer this as a free update, but my application is a niche product and does not generate a lot of sales. It will be the first time I have ever charged for updates. Its a case of wanting to earn enough to motivate me to continue to add more features (who knows, maybe FedEx and DHL too?). Calculating the hours put in vs the payments received I make less than 30c an hour writing this. Luckily its a hobby and not my living. I'm just spelling out the facts before people complain it will be a paid upgrade. Thanks!

This program has been a great timesaver for me and has paid for itself in one month. I originally purchased it as version 2 during a MacPromo event. After initial use I made some suggestions to the developer on how to improve it. With version 3 I believe every one of my suggestions had been implemented. I didn't care too much about international shipping but this was another feature added to 3.0. This is a very responsive and cool developer. Unfortunately I do not use the nifty USB scale feature because I already own a scale (no USB) and upgrading an already nicely functioning UltraShip scale is low on my list. One of the great advantages of this program is that you can know in advance what the shipping cost will be and get the label printed and with confirmation before you go to the post office. This has been helpful for me when selling stuff on ebay as I can figure out shipping cost in advance and list it. Another advantage is you don't have to "back pedal" to see the costs for all the different shipping options. All of them are presented immediately in a drop down list and it takes less time for me to see these than have the clerk read them off to me on their screen at the post office. You also save money on confirmation fees and this is also where this program pays off aside from the time-saving function. Some people want a program that prints out your postage too, but not necessary. Those service programs mean you have to pay a subscription fee EVERY month. Not worth it. I like this exactly for what it is. Some months I don't have packages to ship so why pay a subscription fee? I need to watch my spending and this is perfect. I would say this program is one of those things you don't think you need or want until you begin using it, then you see how practical it is. Love it! Thanks!

We would like to thank all the users who purchased this software through the MacUpdate promotion. We listened to your requests for new features, the largest request was for International shipping. Whilst adding this is going to take a lot of work (USPS ship to other 500 countries! Each country has its own rules and regulations regarding mail.), we are working to add this feature in our next major release (version 3). As promised, version 3 will be a free upgrade for all registered users of versions 1 or version 2. I can't give a timeline, but hope to have this version ready for release within 3 months. Once again, thank you to all those who purchased this software and provided the motivation to add even more features.
