Bought the app blindly because it got a lot of good reviews.
But what it actually did was bricking my iPhone 5S !!! The app crashed while transferring data for no apparent reason.
My iPhone did not respond anymore even after a hard reset.
Wend to my local iPhone dealer and he has to send it to Apple to fix it - probably going to get a refurbished. :(
The dealer also told me this isn't the first time he got bricked iPhones after using iExplorer.

Maybe it works for other people but be aware it can happen.

Great product! Worked as described and quickly too. Plus when having any questions folks were great at responding in less than 24 hours and were very thorough in their responses. Highly recommend.

I just bought a new Mac and iExplorer was extremely helpful in getting my Ipod/itunes back to where I wanted. Great capabilities for file management. Simple but powerful.

On iOS 7.0.6, with the latest iExplorer, it fails to show the root file system on a jailbroken iPhone. :(

To access the root folder, you will also need to install afc2add from the Cydia app store.

One of the most useful applications you can have for your iDevice.
It has saved me a few times, allowing me to take a backup of individual services such as my SMS messages has come in handy a time or two!

For anyone looking to explore their device and extract key data or specific files this is the application for you!

I do look the GUI. And it works in some extend but the main reason why I do not buy a license: It cannot delete stuff in my iPhone5. Basically you can rip all photos, music etc... but cannot remove it afterwards.

If this is added I would buy it for certain.

Regarding the subject of developers 'soliciting' reviews, I think the main consideration should be whether or not the public is being offered some kind of reward to write a review.

If so, the reviews of a flurry of new registrants should be regarded as invalid. If not, then their reviews should be regarded as 'influenced', but not necessarily invalid.

I remember the 'Mackeeper' controversy here on Macupdate. This was a clear case of people being rewarded for reviews, which most would probably frame as positive to insure their reward.

New version seems to have some rather major issues - first and foremost being that even though I have a jailbroken iPhone, I cannot set the "root" directory as the iPhone's root directory.

We recreated how the file system & folder structure works. I think we intended to have an option in the prefs menu for showing the "real-root" if your phone is jailbreaked, but maybe we missed it. I'll try to get that fixed ASAP.
