Very addictive little game with graphics, sound and music that seem first rate. This "Zuma Extreme" has a lot of originality and appears to have had good play testing and some serious thought put into it.
The purchasable goodies in the store aren't grossly lop-sided toward a couple of items like in many games. Almost all come in very handy at different points in play. I'm not huge on puzzles being mixed into my action games but since the game allows skipping them after failures, i can come back later and figure them out when i'm in the mood.
The bonus rounds are a nice rest from the intensity of some of the levels, as are puzzles, i suppose. Getting through a "Crossing the Nile" level with bonus time is tricky.
Just as i was beginning to think i was never going to get past another level because each was taking more tries, i finished the pyramid. So if you're someone like me who's approaching geezerhood, at least you can likely complete the adventure on easy. 9^)
I've had zero problems with stability and i haven't noticed the slightest blip in functioning or rendering during play.
My ONE SIGNIFICANT COMPLAINT is that when i exit the game, though it returns the monitor to normal resolution, for some reason all the icons on my cluttered desktop remain smashed together in the upper-left portion of the screen. I have to relaunch Finder to get them back into their proper positions. Don't know where that fits into ratings so i'll knock a couple stars off of stability.
