Disk cataloging utility.

Overview

Disk Recall is a disk cataloging utility. It creates catalogs of any type of disk (floppies, hard drives, CD-ROMs, Zips, Sy-Quests, AppleShare volumes, etc...). It features an intuitive Finder-like list view for browsing disk contents, and a powerful multi-criteria search engine modeled after Apple's Find File utility of System 8. Disk Recall uses a super-fast archiving algorithm to scan disks 5 to 10 times faster than other Mac catalogers. Disk Recall also lets you search for duplicate files, delete files or folders, scan inside Stuffit files, open and reveal items in the Finder and more. With the accompanying DropLog application, you can easily keep your catalogs up to date by simply dropping them on DropLog when you want to eject them.

Wow, this is really gone now. Folks, CDFinder can import the Disk Recall catalogs, and it runs really nice in Mac OS X, and it can even do a lot of things promised by Disk Recall, like MP3 and more. Forget Disk Recall, use CDFinder instead...

Developer website gone, no support. Too bad, this looked like it could have been a great program, but it has some bugs and the developer has vanished, so why bother? Back to CDFinder...

If anyone still has their downloaded compressed version of Disk Recall 2.0 for Mac, please let me know... I've been looking for it online and cannot find it. I have a BUNCH of disks cataloged in Sys 9 but it would be great to be able to step up to OSX. Mention Disk Recall in the subject line: paxon44@aol.com Thanks, Pax

It is a beta… give 'em a break! If the OS X version is anywhere near version 1.2.8, nothing will touch it. It is still the best pre OS X cataloging program and I suspect will become the leader in OS X.

Too long in coming, two years and still Beta.. I switched to Disk Tracker some time ago. With all of the CD's I make for photographs I could not use an application that is OS9 only.

I thought DiskRecall would never be ported to OS X. I might be wrong. Anyway, I have switched to CDFinder long ago. After all, who can wait 2 years for an OS X port?

Oh my, what a joke. The interface is ugly as hell (must I say: Mac OS 9?), and it will choke at large volumes. The cataloging progress won't work, and there is no trace of any MP3 info whatsoever in the actual catalog file. Nice try...
