It works - as long as you have NOT disabled the Caps Lock key in System Preferences. However, the developer says: :" ... use ~/shader.png to adjust the centered image ..." I cannot find ~/shader.png anywhere. Help.

WARNING!!! Actually, it seems that Deep IT is not the actual dev of this app??? As far as I can tell, this seems to be the real dev: http://www.dsd.net/prod/mac/shadeit.php So it's not even a Freeware and it's still in version 1.1... (but I can't be sure of anything as DSD.NET also sells Amadeus as if it was their product and not Hairersoft's... I count on MU to clear up this double dev thing, if possible. ;-) N.B.: the fact that this pseudo-version 1.2 is just an image of a middle finger pointed at the user made me wonder, that's how I found that.

The current version of Shadeit! (1.2) is just an image of a middle finger ("shader.png"), a rude and stupid joke from the dev. So I put a bad review for v1.2, but version 1.1 is still available and working on 10.9: it has shortcuts to set your display brighter or darker and is the only decent substitute to Shades.

I could not find it either. I opted not to try it out as such. For that matter, there are times when the caps lock key is very handy. It would make more sense to have the option to assign a hot key of one's choosing.
