As an application that is only a countdown-timer, it’s worthless. There are dozens upon dozens of applications for free that perform countdown with far more options. If you want a paid application that is a timer / countdown timer, there are many others that do more than just perform countdowns and have much greater value.
I am enjoying this app. It first got my attention because I am trying to remember to stretch and move every hour! There is much more to this application than that of course, and well worth the money. The owner is responsive and helpful. Due to my own misunderstanding, I had trouble with something and he helped me right away. Thank you! Vicky
This is exactly what i was looking for to implement a kind of 50/10 minutes work methodology that i've been trying to do on my own. it's simple as an egg timer. really shows what programmers can do to solve their own problems.
TimeBoxed is real cool thing for Getting Things Done!
I'm a student and TimeBoxed can help me to focus on learning tasks and it makes me more productive and successful in my studies.
It's a must-have-program :)
I tried the demo, and found it too limited for my needs. Now I have trashed both the app and the installer .dmg file, but it still pops up the annoyance message "It's about time!" And I can't get rid of it. This alone would convince me to not buy the app.
This is a great little application. It's polished, attractive, and provides a sophisticated but unobtrusive way of segmenting your working day into manageable chunks - the better to motivate yourself. The menubar addition in this new version has made it even better. It's now a core part of my writing toolbox, and a very simple and concrete aid to getting things done.
The sole additional feature I'd like to see would be the ability to specify certain set time periods (30/45/60/90 minutes, say) and have these directly selectable from the menubar item, to trigger them immediately. The extremely responsive developer says this is on the way.
Other than that, this is perfect for my needs, and worth every penny. I will always happily pay an extra few bucks for a piece of software that nails its intended purpose, and looks great - and TimeBoxed does.
Just waiting for my licence. I had hesitated slightly ($15.98 Cdn after all), but this is what I've been looking for. I tend to forget about time listening to the blues, surfing and what not and to date I've had three important events I have NOT missed, thanks to this.
Remarkable.
This is a great new timer app for the Mac desktop. The developer has included a lot of excellent features behind what is, on the face of it, a very simple timer--which is what this app is all about. Also: the app has a lot of flexibility in terms of preferences and configuration control.
But best yet, the developer is very open to suggestions, and extremely responsive to bug reports.
Highly recommended.
This is the only timer app that I use and need, without it I would get lost in the computer and spent hours without taking brakes, eating or paying attention to other things that need to be done around the house. Not to mention pay attention to family.
I setup my timers based on what I am doing and the time of day/night that I start. Without Timeboxed I am lost for hours and my family is not so happy dinner didn't get done, cleaning didn't happen or I forgot to go to bed early enough (I know, it's 3:52 AM now and gotta go to bed).
You can find every possible option, and the timer is unobtrusive plus it can use awesome Growl notifications I love it!
Sure the price is too high. But TimeBoxed is well designed, simple, light (compare to Alarm Clock Pro CPU usage) and the OmniFocus Script is well integrated in my GTD system.
Great design for a timer but a little too expensive. With a revised price, it can potentially be the most popular timer.
I recently bought this on MacZOT and just had to counter the others that base their reviews strictly on price and not style or fuctionality. As others have pointed out, if this is not for you, fine. There are quite a few other options I agree. I for one love the style of this app and find it very useful.
Nice program for a simple task and does the job well. My only complaint is their registration. You do not get a number, but a special file to register the program, so if you get a new computer or hard drive and you go to install it, you will not have anything to register it even though you paid for the program. This is a form of DRM that some programmers are adopting as their registration policy. Just like DRM for music, it stinks and users should protest this form of control for what you and paid.
This app does the job PERFECT! I dunno what the other guy on here's problem is but you shouldn't rate a product on whether or not it "fits" you, you should rate it on how well it does what it is supposed to do and this does it PERFECT! It may not have fit you but it fits me just right and I couldn't be happier..
I over the last few years I have acquired most of the more well known "alarm" apps and none of them got more than 5 minutes of use so far except for timeboxed.
Guillaume, don't let fools like that bother you, it's a great app and does it's job great.

Excellente application. Néamoins, pour une entreprise ayant pignon sur rue à Paris, on aurait souhaité avoir droit à une version française. Idem pour le site.
Slick and easy to use. Graphical readout of elapsed time is handy for a quick look but the addition of a digital readout for elapsed as well as remaining time would be helpful.
Adding the capability for including one's own selection of sound alert files would be nice as would a stop watch function.
How would you rate TimeBoxed app?
