If you click on the developers link at the top of this page, you get the message

Sorry, the page /fontcase could not be found.

and it redirects you to another app of theirs (Sketch?)

Bohemiancoding has announced that they have decided to discontinue Fontcase, and will be releasing a new font-related app instead.

Personally I feel regretful for the abandonment, but hope their next app will be as much useful as this one once was for me.

I for one will not pay for another app from Bohemian Coding… Fontcase was never working 100% and the developer refused to correct obvious bugs.

I think 1 ½ stars is not the real rating for Fontcase. But as being discontinued it does not matter.

Unfortunately you are wrong: The new "Fonts" app has a even more stripped down feature set. Chances are that you don’t find it useful because it has no font activation at all.

I downloaded the latest (2.1.8). Tried it on Mac OS 10.6.8 and it crashed. Not worth the effort to download. I have trashed it and all previous versions in favor of other workable apps

I'm not sure where all the negative reviews have come from, but Fontcase meets my needs perfectly (I'm reviewing version 2.1.3.2). It's affordable, quick and responsive, allows activation/deactivation, and allows me to copy glyphs to the clipboard. I'm not enamored with the UI, but it does allow you to view your fonts quickly and there are plenty of options for organization (collections, tags, etc.). I think it's a great value.

Very pretty, elegant looking and fun to play with for the first ten minutes, but a virtually useless application. I have a version 2.1.4 on my iMac (created 15-12-2012 8:23) but the website says 2.1.3.1 is the latest available (created 15-12-2012 8:32): i.e. my non-existent version is 1 second newer.
For support I tried to get the facts on it from "Support", and found plenty of FAQs which did not answer the question but could find no way to talk to a human being; no matter whether elegant or not I would have loved be able to talk to one!
A total waste of time and the expensive purchase price.

Unfortunately it crashes as soon as I start to import my fonts.

I'd love for this to work, it certainly is beautiful (from what I can see of the screen grabs) but as useful as a rice paper bucket.

I've been waiting years for this to come good. Glad I didn't buy it in the App Store.

Went to the developer's website. This version requires 10.7 minimum (why?), a fact hidden below the line and contradicting what it says above.

I am running 10.6.8.

No way of getting an older compatible version that I can see.

I found that they've started to provide the pre-release beta of fontcase on their website:

This page seems to have been mistakenly updated.

The latest version of Fontcase is 2.1.1, not 2.1.2.

The What's New section has the same text as that of Sketch 2.0.2.

Sorry, the latest version *is* actually 2.1.2, though it's not yet released on Apple's App Store.

It's only the What's New section which is wrong.

I have got information from Bohemian Coding that the version 2.1.2 is to update only for non Mac App Store product. The Mac App Store product will be 2.1.1. The update to 2.1.2 for Non Mac App Store is to make it comply to Lion requirement only. No change in funcationality

It seems MacUpdate updated this page automatically but they added the release notes of our other app 'Sketch'. Very confusing, and I see if there's a way to stop this somehow. Sorry for that.

Fontcase 2.0.2 just provided the GateKeeper app signing for mountain Lion for the non-app store version.

Unfortunately, Fontcase suffers from Skype-atitis. Earlier versions were functional and easy to use. The new interface of 2.x totally blows it for me as I have no idea what I'm doing.

Fontcase is a font management application that provides an elegant and powerful workflow to help you organise the fonts you have installed on your system. Designed to be an iPhoto for your fonts, Fontcase has a powerful tagging system, which is designed to let you control your fonts like you control your music.

Fontcase can preview every font for you, whether it is activated or not. There's no need to burden your system with thousands of fonts; you keep them all in Fontcase and activate them only when you need them. Other applications instantly recognise a new font without you having to restart them.

You can now share your fonts with other people just like iTunes pioneered this for music. There's one big difference: Fontcase lets you preview, then download fonts from shared libraries. A company no longer needs a centralized server to distribute new fonts through, it's all built into Fontcase.
