This is a promising product but sadly it's very buggy and ultimately unusable in its current form.
The interface is clean, even sparse, but pleasant. It's not immediately clear how to do some things, for example many screens lack an "Edit" button but deleting can be initiated with a horizontal wipe. Sometimes it's just a bit too simple: while you can save meals the app gives you no assistance in calculating meal composition. You can only enter a single name and total energy for each entry. I'm familiar with the Diet Club software which allowed you to create a saved meal made up of multiple food components and entries could be made in calories or kilo-joules on the fly. Much easier. Although Count It Off allows weight to be recorded in metric or Imperial measures it doesn't yet do the same for energy. However, the developer seems responsive and plans to add this.
There is a free Count It Off web site that synchronises quickly with the app. Entries made in the app are uploaded to the site however this doesn't seem to happen reliably in the other direction making the running total of daily consumption on your iPhone useless.
Ultimately the big problem with this software is that it just doesn't work yet. After one day attempting to use it I have 9 days of random duplicate entries and no accurate running total of how much I've consumed.
Count It Off is very promising but I'd advise postponing purchase until the bugs are squashed.
