tr.im.it Dashboard widget makes long URLs short using the tr.im API. Automatically grabs the URL from the frontmost tab in your browser of choice (Safari, Firefox, Camino, Opera, Flock, or OmniWeb). Automatically copies the trimmed URL to the pasteboard.
What's New
Version 1.2: Added Growl support. Now, if you exit Dashboard before the URL shortening completes and you have Growl enabled, tr.im.it sends a Growl notification.

I just wish it worked in Firefox because that is the browser I use.

Hi. I would have been glad to make it work with Firefox, but I'm using AppleScript to grab the URL and, AFAIK, Firefox isn't AppleScriptable.

You'll be glad to know that version 1.1 has added compatibility with Firefox and a few other browsers. Give it another try. :-)
