This version of Aerocut draws the contours of an image without the help of a remote server.

Thanks to your comments we were able to create this new version that concentrates our technology into each copy of Aerocut and allows you to speed up your work even more: no waiting times for uploading and downloading images!

You can now try Aerocut without any limitations for 30 days for free!

In this version of Aerocut we provide an easy interface, an easier way to register and to try out Aerocut. You will be able to cut out your clipping paths in a fast and precise way.
Whoever download and register it will have a credit of 50 megapixels and up to 10 images FOR FREE EVERY MONTH.

OK, I thought I would try this and see if it really could be worth anything. I registered, and sent 3 photos, then I waited, and waited, it is now 24 hours since I sent those shots and if I needed them for a job I would be fired. This is just one more reason this should be avoided as you don't get anything back. Note to developer, I had better not see my shots anywhere or there will be a steep penalty.

Well 72 hours and they still have not returned my shots. Lost that job and the next 2 if I counted on them to return my shots on time.

Actually this looks like a really good concept and I can see plenty of uses for it. I watched two of the videos linked in the reply below and understand the process completely. It seems like this could really shave a bunch of man hours if you were working on cutouts or whatever. I don't think it would just be a matter of cost saving either. I think what the program aims at is relieving the artist or production person from hours of tedious work. So I think in this respect the program/service seems completely justified and worthwhile. It would be nice to hear from an unbiased person in the field with real world experience with this product.

Just in case anyone is confused about what this does: it uploads your images to a remote server, apparently in Italy, where the processing takes place, and then downloads the results back to you.

I just checked the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy pages on the developer's site. Both are blank. Maybe you have to open an account to see that information. I have no idea what rights the developer considers himself to have to his customers' data.

I wouldn't use this product for anything serious without consult a lawyer first. An Italian lawyer.

First of all I want to apologize to you for "Term of use" and "Privacy Policy". We are translating it with our lawyer and we will publish them in next week.
The description of the service is right; we observed that the clipping path creation is the most boring work for graphic artists and professionals. That's why we spent several years in research to obtain the highest precision in clipping path creation. The result is Aerocut,a full Photoshop-compatible service that cut drastically the human time for clipping paths creations.
Thanks to our RealEdge technology, our server detect EVERY clipping path in the image with the a precision never seen before. Aerocut get server's result and show EVERY clipping path to you so you only have to CHOOSE the right one for your work. The boring work is done by our server, you only have to "navigate" in clipping paths.
Once you finished you can export the result in several formats. In this way you can merge our precision with a lot of standard programs, like Photoshop, and continue to work in usual way,but faster.
Thank you,

Aerocut is a kind of Software as a Service, since we perform remotely the RealEdge detection. We provide freely the software to use the service and to use RealEdge's information. RealEdges have been developed in Digipeeks and are more precise than every other edge detection program. Thank you for your comment.

Basically the program is an unloader to their site. Where they photoshop it for you. Then send it back.
---

This is wrong:

1. You send an image to our server
2. The server launches an algorithm who calculates *every possible outline*.
3. The server will send you back the elaborated image in few time (it depends by bandwidth and server load)

So you will be able to proceed in cutting out your image quickly and easily.

The recharging system has a lot of advantages:

-the algorithm for the clipping path extraction is really heavyweight and you need a huge machine to work on it. In this way instead the effective load is on the server.
-everyone can enjoy EVERY new version, functionality and bug fix absolutely for free. For example, from version 2.1.3 we introduced the "smooth selection" tool without further costs. You don't have to pay for any licence, since the software is freeware.
Moreover, you can use the windows and Mac OS X version with the same account without paying a new licence for each one.
This make Aerocut very affordable!

About this:
"We just have to take your word for it that you have such a thing. And yes, screenshots etc can be faked."

We believe that everyone can say "we are the best" and "we work with the biggest companies" but what really matters is the result. The result is the advantage of having EVERY clipping path of an image in a completely automatic and fast way with a precision never, ever, seen.
That's why we decided to give a free trial (5 images for 50 megapixels of charge) of the service to each one that register himself on www.digipeeks.com . Everyone is invited to try his images for free with our service to prove what we are saying!
We would be happy to have your testimony about this! :)

The programme is freeware, using it costs money.

Cited from their FAQ site:

>>How much does it cost?
The service has a prepaid system that schedules different types of point-recharge, based on the amount of megapixels.

For the first three images that you send to our server, service is free. Then you can decide the type of recharge you prefer. This system allows you to have control of your bill and to pay what you really send to us. Moreover, the more images you send to us, the more discounts you will have: your user-level will grow and so you will have a lot of promotions.

With Aerocut you can work whenever and wherever you want, because our service is working 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. All over the world, everywhere you are, our server will send to you the image ready to be cut out.
