SEO optimization for iWeb-based sites.

Overview

iWeb SEO Tool helps you quickly and easily optimize your iWeb-based website for search engines, then publishes directly to your iDisk or FTP server without ever leaving the application.

Now iWeb users can enjoy the same search engine benefits enjoyed by all other websites by optimizing your iWeb site specifically for all major search engines. iWeb SEO Tool can also easily add Google Analytics, or any other analytics code, to your iWeb site.

Just open your iWeb based website and start adding your most important keywords that your customers are actually searching for without touching the underlying HTML code.

First and only time of using, SEO Tool froze during ftp publish - lost my work after a total of three hours spent optimising each page manually (changes must be applied to each page or lost before switching to work on another page). Hadn't found any way to save work prior to publishing, and there didn't seem to be any apparent way to publish locally (i.e. save) to a folder on hd - remote-publishing appears to be the only method of saving! Without a back-up feature, user is entirely vulnerable to loss of work if the publish routine should fail, as there is no way to reattempt publishing at a later point unless one can first save/publish work locally to hd.

iWeb SEO Tool has been free for so long that I suppose its difficult for some to actually think about paying for it. The fact of the matter is that, if you consider the time this app saves you every time you update a website, its cheap at twice the price! Although I don't use iWeb to create new sites any longer, I still have quite a few that need updated and SEO Tool will remain in use for quite so time. If I had to buy it again today I would without hesitation since it does the job quicker and easier than any other available method.

The H1 header tag issue on the rage forum. I spent hours and tried every suggestion but to no avail. The font comes out horrible, large or wrong font completely. http://www.ragesw.com/forums/index.php?/topic/2495-iweb-seo-tool-settings-h1-h2/

That isn't a bug. Since iWeb doesn't support h1 through h6 tags they use the default styling. You can easily modify how h1 through h6 tags look using CSS as Jeremy pointed out in that forum post and as described in our knowledge base article; http://www.ragesw.com/support/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/87/0/my-header-tags-dont-look-the-same-when-i-publish-my-site-as-they-do-in-iweb This is an advanced feature and requires some tweaking to get right but it isn't a bug and there is an easy solution to it.

Not a bug? Just a feature that does not work. I did forgive that WEAKNESS in your software when in was free. However, the very fact that you tried to implement it implies you understand h1 tag's importance. So all I am saying is, if you want us to pay, get the job right...

Jokyo, read the article I provided you. It tells you how to fix it. You can't just enter a header tag and assume it is going to match your website layout. There is NO way for this to happen unless you put the other code as outlined in the article. There is nothing we can fix in the software. We still give you the capability to do what you need though. Many users are using it successfully. There is no bug or weakness in the software for us to fix otherwise we would fix it.

It's a very nice, useful, must have application for everyone using iWeb. But, I noticed a very slow process in times.

iWeb SEO Tool fills an important need lacking in iWeb, works exactly as advertised, and is absolutely FREE. Great strategy on RAGE's part as it is an intro. to RAGE's software that I would not have known about otherwise. Thanks for making this free.

Yes, that's why I use my real name Mr. Smith. They are paying me millions to promote a free app; makes sense to me.

@VKD: Right but the point of the software is to not use an HTML editor since we are using iWeb. As well, since iWeb removes all changes to your site, iWeb SEO Tool remember the tags you entered so you can re-apply them with one click instead of having to re-enter them each time you want to make a change to your iWeb site. Also, iWeb SEO Tool applies certain settings to your entire site which may be difficult with an HTML editor if it doesn't have a find and replace feature for an entire directory. Lastly, the software is free, so use it if you find it useful and more efficient than an HTML editor.

All of your changes ARE saved locally automatically AND in iWeb SEO Tools internal database. Your work is definitely not lost. That's the whole point of iWeb SEO Tool, it automatically saves all of your changes in its internal database so they next time you Publish to a folder in iWeb, and all your files are overwritten, you just have to press Apply All. All the saved data stored in iWeb SEO Tool's internal database is used to instantly update your site. The folder you open in iWeb SEO Tool will also contain all of your changes. Changes are made directly to your original folder. Please see the user manual under the Help menu which explains all of this.
