Billiards overview

Billiards is an amazing 3D computer simulation of five different billiards games: 9-Ball, 8-Ball, Straight, 3-Ball, and Snooker.

Play Billiards in practice or match mode against a friend on the same computer. You can change the table cloth color to any of the five different options.

I agree with some of the other reviewers. This doesn't play very well and the balls take too long to stop. It would be best if we could access the game options from the menu bar, as they can't be accessed while the balls are moving, and the balls move for a long time. I also think the table seem too small for the snooker game. It would be good to have options for resizing to fit fullscreen. "Amazing 3D computer simulation". 3D must mean something different to me! For this price I would at least expect the employment of a computer opponent. Again, like some of the other reviewers mentioned; you can get better for free on the internet, and if this is the best pool/snooker simulation we have on the mac, then I'll stick to gaming on the PS2.

It's too bad this is one of the few pool games offered to Mac users. I wouldn't play this if the developer payed me the shareware fee!! I've been playing pool on www.pogo.com which puts this rubbish to shame. It's pretty pathetic when a java based pool game can blow away a Mac made pool game. As for the scummy tactics of renaming the game and re-releasing it instead of fixing the original title. There's a real smart tactic, piss off all your customers. Save your money get another game and give up on pool for the Mac with cheesy companies like bakno.

Agreed on the comments on the marketing tactics, it's not really the best way to approach your users. Onto the game itself. It is better in some ways than MacPool. BUT - the sound is terrible, not realistic at all, it doesn't have online play, and the game just hasn't improved as it should of given how long it's been around for. Sims Pool on my iPod plays better than this, and given the extra resources Billiards has at it's disposal, that's pretty dismal.

Well, let's see what we can do here (Bakno speaking). We aren't selling too many versions of 'MacPool' *and* we offer that nasty, annoying "Free Upgrades" (check for yourselves --> ) thing to our past customers, so why don't we update MacPool, but (keep it among ourselves 'cause this is wickedly clever) instead of calling it 'MacPool,' and allowing the people who purchased MacPool to get a free (and much needed update to this cheesy a$$ game) update, pretend it's a whole new game! We'll call it 'Billiards' and the ignorant fools (me included, I'm afraid ;-)) who bought MacPool will be none the wiser. That way, the suckers who bought 'MacPool' will be forced into buying this 'new' game, called 'Billiards' in order to get any actual improvements to their original game, 'MacPool.' Wow, you are so very clever. Not only can you code (although the flippin' games (MacPool and Billiards too for that matter), are not really that great in the first place) you are just wizards in the business world too (NOT)! I've given you my money. I've played nice with you. I've been decent and honest. And now you creeps play this game? Billiards is nothing other than an improvement (however slight) on MacPool. Same game(s), same company - cleverly disguised (or not) name. It should be an update. Instead you offer it as a new game? For additional money? Very dishonest of you. Garbage companies like this make honest people (like myself) consider using hacked serial numbers and warez sitez. I wish I had checked around and 'got them' before they 'got me.' Amen. Shame on Bakno, and say 'no' to Bakno and their likes.
