Acting as the professional ClipWrap Alternative, iDealshare VideoGo has both Windows and Mac version and supports all the features that ClipWrap have. Furthermore, this ideal ClipWrap for Window or Mac equivalent supports even more media formats, cameras, and media player or editing software.

i wouldn't recommend buying this anymore. the company behind it has a new app called EditReady that includes everything ClipWrap can do and lots more. The fact that this app hasnt received any relevant updates in the recent past shows its pretty much dead.

I shoot video in the AVCHD format, with resulting .MTS files. To deal with these files, I use Media Converter, which is free and offers lossless quality, meaning no quality loss. All this software does is re-wrap the file to a file that your video editing or video player software recognizes, which for me is a .MOV file. When you open Media Converter, go to Preferences>Presets, and click the More Presets button at the bottom of the window. A web page will open with additional presets. Choose Re-wrap AVCHD for Quicktime - uncompressed Audio by clicking on the icon to the right of the description, which will download the preset. Then double click the downloaded file to add it to Media Converters Presets. The other software I use as part of my workflow is MPlayerX, which is also free. Drag this App to your Dock. Now your ready to work. I drill down to the AVCHD Video .MTS files, click on the first file and drag it onto the MPlayerX icon in the Dock, which will play the video clip so I know what video clip I’m looking at. The playback will be a little jerky and the audio will be out of sync, but do not worry, as this is only a reference for you to use to see what the chosen video clip is about. After you go through all your video clips, deleting the unwanted ones, and writing a description for the keepers (by clicking on the video clips name and changing it), click on any one file once, then in your Menu Bar go to File>Get Info. A window will open, go down to Open With, and in the Pull Down Menu, navigate to the Media Converter App in your Applications Folder, and then click on the Change All button below. What you just did was tell your computer that any time you double click a .MTS file, Media Converter will be the default App that will open it with a Dialog Window for you to navigate to where the resulting .MOV video files will be saved. Once saved, just double click a file, which should open in QuickTime, or you will be able to be import the video files into your video editing software, like Final Cut Pro or Express.

$50 for a piece of software. That is *NOT* expensive people! You guys rant and rant and say "it's never good enough", but do you at all know how long it takes to develop software, and how cumbersome it is ? People that don't want to pay for software is the reason I don't want to make my best software available to the public. When people start paying for the small stuff, I might release something a little bigger. What am I talking about ? I'm talking about an application, which had more than 200000 downloads in less than a single month, a ton of positive feedback. What did people pay ? IN TOTAL: 6 times $20 - for 2 YEARS of development. -So I'd suggest that if you want software, you open the wallet and close your mouth. (I'm not the developer of this software, and if you can afford Final Cut Pro, you can afford paying $50; if you can't afford Final Cut Pro, why would you need this software anyway?)

when converting .m2t file to .mov file using Clip Wrap(I have 2.4.6 version), it only converted half of my file and sent out an error message ' error parsing file', can anyone help me to resolve this issue? The output format I used are 'AIC' (Apple Intermediate codec) and HDV, both with same error. I ended up with half of the file. thanks.

ClipWrap is overpriced by half. If you don't need to do postproduction work on your .m2t or .m2ts files, you want to convert your material to a new file format losslessly, and you'll be satisfied with a Matroska (.mkv), .mp4 (or .m4v), .avi, ts or .vob file format, then use the freeware application 'remux' (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/35968/remux). If you're willing to research it yourself, there are many other free or less expensive options available.

Love the idea. When using the demo, seemed very simple. Way too expensive though. The 26cab40 said, $20 would make it a must have, $30 would make it worth it, $40 makes it expensive, $50 makes it so that I can't buy it. :-(

It's a nice idea, saves having to use a couple of utilities to do the same job. But. It's not $50 nice, just too much fellas, $20 would make it a must-have.
