From the developer's site today:

"Due to circumstances beyond our control, Whimsicaly Plucky Software has to close it's doors. I'd ike to take this opportunity to thank al of the users of BackityMac, RadiioRocker, DochChanger and VideoVangeist for their patronage. There is a possibility we may open the doors again one day. Until then I've updated all the products to remove all registration requirements and they are all now FREE. Any versions previous to these listed will no longer activate. You may stil email me if you wish, however, no further support for the products will be offered.

Sincerely,
DJ MacIntosh

CODECS anyone????? The darn thing keeps asking to install additional codecs no matter how often you have previously installed them. This could drive you bananas!!!

Sorry, but this app has been worthless since being upgraded to version 2.x. I just did a clean install of Snow Leopard and it still gives the "Filling cache..." message and never connects to a station. The author is completely unresponsive. At this point I'd just like my money back.

Still does the "Filling cache..." thing forever. The player never starts. I guess it's time to cut my losses and move on.

This is a GREAT application and well worth the money! I especially like the way it does the recording of the station selected. Excellent in every way!

I've updated RadioRocker to 2.0.1 and recompiiled the engine as a universal binary. Make sure you also install the additional codecs in the Help menu. This enables the streaming engine.

Thanks, fixed the crashing issue. If you can add column sorting that will be great :)

Hi Rob

Unfortunately, I'm still getting the "Filling Cache..." message and the player never starts.

Doesn't work for me on a G5 DP 2GHz running OS X 10.5.7. I get a "Loading ... Filling Cache" message forever for every station I try. Good thing I didn't pay the $10 for this.

Shoves four "LED" fonts in the main Library/Fonts folder -- you do not have the option of placing them in your own Users/Library/Fonts folder.

After choosing a state you get to see all available radio stations in the primary window. However you CANNOT SORT the various columns! (Codec, Station, Frequency, City, and Genre.) This is a silly omission.

Some stations refused to play -- just no audio at all. I did not test a whole lot of stations.

Tried out 2.0, first time I've checked out this app... first annoying thing: radio stations are only organized by State, and you can't fine tune that list further (by city or region).

Second annoying thing: you can't sort the stations, be it by frequency or call name.

Third annoying thing: when I went to play a station (any station), all I get is "RRMplayer unexpectedly quit."

Hmm..

Want to listen to a game in Pittsburgh? Select Pennsylvania as the state and choose your favorite station. Like the mix of a station in California, but you live in Virginia, select California as the state and choose the station.

Want to go to the stations website and check out any promotions or learn more about the disc jockeys or anything. Simply click the globe next to the digital readout and you'll instantly go to that stations website.

Presets, just like in your car radio... You can assign presets of your favorite stations to the 6 preset buttons in the player window. Click "Manage Preset Buttons" in the "File" menu or use Command+P. Choose which button you want to assign to the song currently playing. Instantly the preset will be set and you can customize the name of the button. Next time you launch RadioRocker just click your preset button, just like on your car stereo and you'll be listening to the station you like instantly.
