Using the full download usually does a better job of updating drivers, the latest being 10.51.2.0 (Preferences> Print & Scan> Options & Supplies button...) If yours isn't this number after updating using Apple's Software Update you might want to download the whole thing. Long story short; last time I used Software Update my drivers weren't updated.

The solution was that I told Canon's site that I wanted 10.9 and it gave me driver for this printer which I then installed. My Printer is now back working!

Thanks mjardeen. My Canon pro9000 was not working after I updated to Yosemite. I was so bummed and even sent message to Canon and got a reply saying they didn't have a driver for pro9000, but I could buy a new printer at a discount!!!#@ I tried the driver for Maverick and it WORKED. Saved my sanity for tonight.

I went to the Canon software pages and installed the Mountain Lion printer driver [MP530 CUPS Printer Driver Ver. 10.67.2.0 (OS X 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8)] and the problem was solved.

I have all the Canon printer updates but I never use them. I had many printing problems when I had my old Power PC iMac. Back then I vowed never to replace a printer driver that was still working. When I got my intel imac about 5 years ago it ran lion. At the same time I bought a Pixma 4200 printer. The accompanying printer driver worked well. And it still works well. All the way from Lion thru Mountain Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite. I have no desire to mess with something that is still working.

I've just downloaded Canon UFR II Printer Driver v2.43 for Macintosh Mac OS X 10.5.8 to 10.8.x from the Canon Global download centre to install on my recently acquired MacBook and after download up pops a dialogue box saying "The following disk images couldnt be opened." Reason: Not Recognised. What's with that? Anyone know how to go past this and to instal the printer driver?

A word of caution based on my recent experience. I've been using a Canon MF4200 series on my MacBookPro with system 10.6.8 since forever. The Canon Mac URFII driver is required to make this multifunction printer work. And it does, quite nicely. I've always downloaded the updated Apple Canon drivers if for no other reason than to have the latest & greatest. I've never experienced a problem until Apple Canon update 2.10. With this update, I'm able to print once from any appliation like Safari or Word or Preview, then the application becomes non-responsive. Relaunching the application and attempting to print only locks up the application again. I have to restart the Mac, relaunch the application, then print. Once. Otherwise the application will become non-responsive trying to print a second time. I've given this update a low rating because, for me, it's problematic.

After downloading one of these first updates months ago I steer clear of them as they apparently screw-up a functionally working Canon printer. Don't install! If it works don't fix it?

I'm afraid to add the new 10-04-12 2.10 Canon printer update. I installed the last printer update on Lion. Afterwards my imac stopped recognizing my printer. Nothing I could do and I was working with both Canon and Apple about it could get my printer noticed on my imac. I didn't get my printer recognized again until I updated to Mountain Lion. I don't want to go through that again. It seems safer to let well enough alone since my printer is working now.

Just like sjk I got the "there are no drivers available for your model" This was after downloading the printer drivers first! I ended up having to clear my browser history and reload the page and on the 3rd reload it "magically" found them again. That said, I also have had problems getting the MF4350d to work wirelessly. I finally got a long USB cable and shared the printer on one of my desktops so the rest of the rooms have access.
