Warblade overview
Warblade is a Mac arcade shoot'em up game with focus on very good playability. You control a space ship from an above view, and move upwards shooting through a maze of enemies and barriers.
The game is a remake for the Mac of my Amiga game Deluxe Galaga. Was one of Adrenaline Vaults top shareware games! Got a Bytten Ernie award for most addictive game!

The new version on the App store must have some improvements. I never played the earlier versions but have racked up scores over 500,000 on this one, cycling through all 100 levels several times. The difficulty level seems perfect. Rather than a feeling of frustration as others have commented, I find quite the reverse and really enjoy this game.
While the game is well designed and executed, it's also treacherous, mean spirited and backstabbing. Not only does it spit in one's face, it also kicks one in the gonads. I, too, found it great fun initially, but, as the developer tightened the screws, making Warblade more vicious, I essentially gave up in disgust; I now play it only occasionally.
Would be nice if the developer made Warblade more player friendly.
When I first downloaded Warblade some months ago, I played it for hours.... it was great fun. Since then, the developer has made the game a lot more difficult. It's now lots of punishment with few rewards. It's now essentially an exercise in futility. I now have to abort Warblade much more often if I find myself getting bashed early in the game.... which happens a lot, so, not being a masochist, I finally just put the game in trash and deleted it in disgust.
I mean, if I end up feeling miserable after playing Warblade, what's the point? A game is supposed to be fun, after all.
Warblade is well designed overall but is just too punishing now, IMHO.
A truly outstanding, fun, fast paced, arcade style game! Holds my interest for hours at a time. Thoroughly enjoyable!!
I played the demo for hours, then purchased it. This game developer really knows what he's doing.
If you like this style of game, give it a whirl; your gonna love it.
Kudos to the developer; this game is a real class act! WOWIE!!!
