The app is not only full of feaures, but it is also extremely fast and very stable. The GUI is brilliant and performes perfectly on Retina screen. I switched from Windows recently and find no need to use the full Acrobat or other edit/imposing tools. Everything I need is possible to achieve with native Preview and PDFClerk Pro. A faster, simpler, and uncluttered solution –not to say a huge saving from Adobe prices.

Question. When download a PDF form will this let fill it in on my desktop and then print? If not what will. I hate printing a form then hand writing the spaces in. I had to rate this to post.

I was desperate and bought this 4 days ago at the regular price. In my opinion it is worth what I paid to not have to watch a spinning beachball when working with large pdf files. At 43% off it is a steal.

This is really a great piece of software if it is what you need. Its strengths are in post production where a number of PDFs need to be brought together for further processing. Here is where its ability to do layouts for book publishing (impositions) and table of contents with linking really shine. I've not seen any other PDF app on the Mac that can do the job as quickly and as easily as PDFClerk Pro. Form creation and completion are average, lacking some abilities that can be found in other products (eg. multi-line text and field restrictions), and annotation can be found in other cheaper apps. I found the company very responsive with a good user forum, and they are willing to support MUGs.

I was searching for a pdf app, and fortunately, found this app here on MacUpdate. I had been struggling with "PDF Pen Pro" with its glacial speed, crashes and sheets that you couldn't get rid of without force quitting the app. PDFClerk Pro was so fast & easy to use, I managed to get 27 separate pdf's into one single file. In no time at all, I was taking a break. With that experience down, I bought this app. Well worth the 35 euros.

This is a fantastic piece of software. The developer is polite and repsonsive. It works well for editing PDFs and the new bookmarking functions are great.

I'm sorry, but I just have to react to what is to me an obviously unfair comment. It is quite possible the user who wrote "careful with this" experienced a hang, but I have not had problems saving PDFClerk documents. The rest of his claims about the software are nonsense though: PDFClerk offers several different PDF export options, and the option to save intermediate results in its own file format allows for much needed flexibility. It's a plus, not a minus. I'm never forced to use a particular format. I can pick and choose as the situation requires, it being equally easy to use either format. And, just like with the earlier commentators, I've been met with excellent customer support: fast and efficient. I once was working on a pdf using PDFClerk and needed some functionality that was not there and contacted the developer. Within a couple of days he had added it. The developer is obviously eager to help. Make sure to read the developer's reply to the previous commentator's claims, and you'll see that even his claim of flatly being denied a refund is not true. Based on my previous experiences with this developer, I have no doubts his comments reflect what actually happened. There are not many PDF editors around that offer great functionality at a great price, but this is certainly one of them, and I have a hard time imagining anyone being unfairly treated by this developer. PDFClerk has saved me a lot of time in many occasions and I feel fortunate being able to use this product that continues to grow from strength to strength with such an engaged and supportive developper behind it.

Careful with this software I tried to fill a simple form with this (add 5 pieces of text) - then it didn't want to save the document and hung in an error. When looking through the manual it is clear that this isn't a PDF editor, but some kind of a tool that writes "it's own format". Refunds from this company even when software doesn't work are a no no (probably in violation of US consumer law). If you have work to do, and no desire to save files in non-pdf formats, or to troubleshoot broken software, then look elsewhere.

I bought PdfClerk Pro for only one purpose - to create and edit bookmarks. I own Acrobat Pro, and while it works fine for most tasks, it is sorely lacking when it comes to working with bookmarks. PdfClerk Pro enables me to do the following (none of which Acrobat Pro can do): • Automatically generate bookmarks from entries in a table of contents • Automatically hyperlink table of contents entries • Automatically number bookmarks • Create bookmarks with a default zoom level of "inherit zoom" Given the alternative of manually and tediously creating and editing bookmarks in Acrobat Pro, PdfClerk Pro is a bargain!

This is not going to be a comprehensive review. But I feel the need to comment on this application. I have been using PDFClerk Pro (and the non-pro version) for a couple years. It's a great way to assemble a PDF file from lots of different files. I upgraded to the pro version a while back partly to show my support for the company but also because I wanted the ability to add my own annotations (text boxes, highlights, shapes, etc) to existing PDF documents. I also looked at a product called PDF Pen, but comments about support problems scared me away. PDFClerk Pro has done everything I have asked of it. It just works! I believe I have only begun to scratch the surface of this program's potential. There are many features I haven't yet explored. For the user who wants to assemble PDF's from files of varying types and the user who wants to annotate existing PDF's this is a great program (and less expensive than the $449 Acrobat Pro!). THE BEST PART: The thing I like best about PDFClerk and PDFClerk Pro is the exceptional customer support. There are so many bad customer support experiences every day in this world. SintraWorks' António Nunes provides extraordinary support. Use the SintraWorks suport forums. You will receive a quick answer to your question. The answer will be complete, well thought out, and easy to understand. Nice job!! IN SUMMARY: The program is stable and works well. The support is excellent.

This is an excellent application that does everything that the developer lists in his notes. But wait, there's more. This application is scriptable as well. This has allowed me to create 130 page documents with 2000 internal links by merging 4 different PDF files. Once I had the Applescript written I was creating these files in 2 minutes. To do the 2000 links manually would be impossible. The developer is very helpful and responsive.

This is a very good application. Even being a beta is very stable (I was part of the private beta 1-5) and is full of great features. In my opinion, this is a great upgrade and PDFClerk 3 makes a difference on the PDF Mac apps world: UI, PDF forms, annotations encryption and, especially, outlines. (I'm still to test the applescript capability.) For me, being able to have a "table of contents" (outline) on the sidebar of a pdf reader program, is a must for navigation, especially in medium or long documents. This feature alone allowed me to stop using Adobe's heavy weighted Acrobat. As a matter of fact, during the last week I worked in several PDFs, including some that had more than 600 pages and the behavior of PDFClerk was exemplary. I'm a very happy costumer with this application and its developer support.
