AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS! This developer is selling software that does not work and when I tried to get a refund he blamed it on the requirements which he says must be a G5. MacUpdate needs to remove this software from their list or update the proper requirements for using this software.
I bought this software through macZOT and received a serial number that does not work. I contacted the developer and macZOT and can not get a correct serial. This developer and macZOT never have my money again.
Indeed it is the second time I have problems with serial numbers macZOT. Never happened to MacUpdate or any other site ...
I have bought Dream Capture from the website of the developer after doing a trial. That went very well indeed. I used my Sony DVCAM camera and I made recordings of about a couple of minutes and the colors really looked good. Kudos for that to the developer.
I wanted to use it for prerecorded home movie material that would only reside on our computers. Nothing fancy.
However after entering the code you receive having bought the program the trouble started. Recordings of severals seconds only and the saving screen dropping down willy nilly.
To my surprise I read here, that you should have a G5 processor! I am using an iMac with a G4. As far as I could see on the website of the developer there is nowhere any talk about the necessity to have a Mac with a G5 processor! This is not good!
If it had been on the website I would not have bought the program however good the program would function. Possibly because of the good results I would have asked support if a G4 would cause any problems.
I have written to the developer and I am waiting for an answer.

I have used this application for nearly a month and am very disappointed with it. Consistently the record function ceases after about a minute or two. This problem makes the application unusable for me. The developer is very responsive, but this alone does not make it possible for me to use Dream Capture.
It also have a very limited feature set. It offer no compression menu and is, otherwise, highly inflexible. Yes, it's cheap, but it offers very little.
I've been trying out video capture apps for use with the new Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro for Mac. It is a USB UVC compliant cam with the auto focus and auto light controls built into the camera on chips. I'm using it with a Mac Pro. Dream Capture is dead simple to use. It captures a fabulous picture. However there needs to be some additional USB/UVC support work to increase the capture frame rate for a camera of this type. It is about 5 fps, the same as PhotoBooth. I don't doubt Dream Capture is excellent with built in iSight cameras but for a Mac Pro the Quickcam Vision Pro is the best available and 5 fps is not really adequate.
Potential users should also be aware that Dream Capture only records .mov recordings in the H.264 codec so if your intent is to make YouTube videos or email visual messages to friends, you'll need some serious compression software. Don't get me wrong, the .mov files created are really good. The app is just limited to one feature set but if it is what you need the price is incredibly modest for what you are getting.
My one real complaint is that although there is a 'demo' version, it doesn't allow for any recording! In short the 'demo' is useless and I had to purchase the app to find out it isn't that well suited for my circumstances. The modest price is hardly a cause for serious complaint, though.
I just brought this from Macpromo, got serial no. No place I can find to put the serial no. no email address for support Am wondering if this is a spoof!!
These peeps need to have their Developer licenses revoked. So not up to any standard of (typical Apple) quality. Yeah, it cost a dollar or two, and then you throw it away. Save your money, buy a candybar.
j'ai téléchargé, je me retrouve avec la version 1.1 et impossible charger l'update...

c'est pas cher mais encore trop cher...
Says Shareware, but the MU Download link takes you to a page that only allows a download after payment has been received.
That's not Shareware.
It also says "Record video from any camera connected to your Mac."
Well, if it can display video from a Scalar USB microscope (a USB camera) on an Intel Imac, I'll pay the author 10 times his asking price. I can say this, because it's worth $20.60 to be proven wrong.
