I've been using Blogo for a while now, and have to say honestly that while it's pretty nice in some ways, it falls down badly in others. Two specific examples: 1. I still have more control over placing pictures in text using Blogger's web-based editor than I do in Blogo. A paid, Mac-native app like Blogo should offer me picture placement on par with Pages, not sub-par to a web editor. The present system is both unintuitive and awkward, with unpredictable results. 2. I want to use proper quotes (curled) and real apostrophes by default. No way to do this in Blogo. Something THIS basic should not be missing in a program that is at least part word processor.

Not Cool! I pay for Blogo when it was possible to post multiple blogs in the app; now, re-using the app for multi-blogging, I just see that it's not possible anymore without paying a 10$/month fee!!! Man, our wallets are not elastic; a 10$/month fee for a service I already pay for? And that could be free from other app like Wordpress.com desktop? I just want to be repaid for my first investment in a app that is not useful anymore.

BOMBS AWAY! I'm on a MacBook Pro 2013 with 10.9.5. I've clean installed it twice. It BOMBS every time: "Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000000" Trashed. I may try it again on a 10.11 Mac. But this is a total disappointment on 10.9.5.

I got it working on 10.11.4. So apparently, it is publishing incorrect system requirements information.

The 'Pro' version costs $70 a year, $10 a month. You get:
- Manage multiple blogs
- Smart Sync with Evernote
- Moderate and reply comments
- Social Mirrors
- Customer Fields

There is a 30-day free trial of the 'Pro' version.

Overall a very nice blogging app. It offers just enough features for the new/average blogger. The one thing that keeps me from using it is that you can't set the Post Format (Wordpress). So unless every post you make is a "standard" post (not a Link, Video, Photo, Quote, etc.), you're probably not going to like it. To be fair, I don't believe MarsEdit will do this either. So basically, Blogo is fine for composing, but you have to save it as a draft and then go to your WP control panel in your browser to switch the Post Format and publish anyway. Might as well just use the standard web-based WP for blogging.

Wow, thanks for bringing Blogo back to life - my prefered blogging tool on the mac. I also own MarsEdit but I like to concentrate on writing only and don't want to get confused by too many options. Version 2 works perfectly well here and the new devs are very responsive and listen to your feedback. There are still things missing (e.g. markdown support would be great, a list of used tags, ...) but hey: it is a brand new first release and they are already working on new features.

Hi Gisele. I think most users are a bit wary about downloading because they are scared that the new set of developers may leave the program again in the future. Even at the discounted price of 14.99, it is still steep. Maybe while you are trying to attract prospective customers, you can lower the price a little bit more, then when you have a good following/# of users, you can upgrade the price.
Personally, I am scared to make the investment because of the possibility of future abandonment. Unlike other apps like Byword and DayOne which have other uses other than blogging, a dedicated app like Blogo will be useless once developers abandon it.
The old app was good, and people invested $25USD, only to find the app abandoned only after a few years. That's a pretty scary track record, and while we know that this is a new team, it still doesn't give us an assurance of continuity.

Have used Blogo for a few years and liked/recommended it. Integration with WP was seamless as was the ability to drag & drop images. However, it looks like it is no longer being supported. Error message: It looks like your internet connection is down. Blogo will be unable to post until your connection returns. (all passwords verified and checked). I've emailed developers over a month ago without a response. Looks like Blogo is destined for the trash can.

The website is back up and Blogo is working again for posting to blogs but the Twitter feature still is not working. I was very surprised that the post/update button was greyed-out when the Blogo website was down but I could still save to Blogger as a draft and then publish from the Blogger Dashboard. Bizarre process that the software has to contact Blogo every time it's used. While I generally like Blogo and found it superior to MarEdit when I trial=tested both side-by-side, it is of concern that Blogo/Brainjuice seem to have stopped updating their blog, publishing fixes to problems like the one with Twitter and do not answer mail to the support address. Even if (best scenario) they are feverishly working on a revision for the AppStore it has the appearance (worst scenario) they are going (or have gone) out of business. That the website came back after a few days is encouraging - someone must still be on the job - but I wouldn't recommend anyone pay for this software at this time.

Yeah, agreed. I carefully chose this app ahead of the others a couple of years ago, and it got top reviews. Support and development were never lightning fast, but I did get responses in reasonable time initially. Lately however e-mails have disappeared into the blackhole, and bugs are aplenty. Shame, to say the least. Don't buy (for now, at least).

Like several of the other reviewers, BLOGO has a fatal problem. It fails to recognize an active web connection. This renders the application to be useless, since it cannot post anything. I have contacted the developers, but have not received a reply. It's too bad because it used to be especially useful software - now useless.

I purchased Blogo on one of the special offers. I liked the interface and would hardily recommend it except for one thing. The only problem I have is it does not know how to be idle. I used the activity meter and see it consumes about 6% of CPU while it is not being used. I have upgraded machines since I first got the app and so I can say it is not the fault of my hardware. Even some of the big development environments I use don't use that much CPU when idle. I have asked them to fix it when it was consuming 12% and they got it down to 6% but I still find that unacceptable. It appears to be a ruby based application and maybe it the problem is the ruby based apps are not ready for prime time.

At last remote blogging software worthy of the Macintosh platform. Blogo has developed a user friendly, attractive and above all intuitive piece of software. It supports a wide range of services from the well known such as WordPress to the less well known. This software can be made as complex or simple as you want - from html to what you see is what you get.

Working with Blogo is a breeze and it feels smooth and it is solid and elegant. This is bloggin the Mac-way. Well, I was really hoping you guys would take your time before releasing this as a final (and commercial) version and thus not only fix the numerous errors and glitches but also add some general basic features...!? Even not considering that you are not doing yourselves a favour with the weird GUI (which, I know, you think is supposed to increase the user experience) in this current state it is just not worth the price...! Which is sad, because it would have been nice to have a fresh new app of this kind around...but unfortunately Blogo is not it...! People still have problems logging into their accounts, account names are not showing up in the Ping section of prefs, international characters are messed up in the preview which itself is useless because it doesn't actually show what the post would look like in the browser, and unpredictable crashes are just a few of the problems we encountered here in the short period of testing...! Then there's the lack of features like formatting text as a list, as blockquotes or that you cannot change the alignment of text at all, you cannot save your work locally, insert a 'more' tag or any kind of code...and all that is just the tip of the iceberg... Too bad, as it seems that there's a capable, creative team behind this...but in its current state this app is close to being useless and definitely not worth the price, especially not in comparison to powerful competition like ecto for instance... (BTW and just to avoid any further confusion: I used to post the previous comments as 'mail21' and have changed my screen name since then...! There's no mystery behind that and no big conspiracy going on here...)

Okay, what's the idea of labelling an app beta and then still making it time-limited and wanting to charge for it...?! This is really spreading all around now...!? Anyway, this app seems to be ignoring every GUI guideline Apple has ever come up with...!?! Not sure why the devs thought it was necerssary to do that... It looks interesting though, although it only offers the most basic features, from my point of view...but then again, that will probably do for the majority of bloggers anyway... I encountered a strange problem though: While I had no probems setting up the first blog account, it just won't accept the information for the second one...!? Both are set up the same way though, both running on Wordpress...yet I keep getting a message that my blog (the second one) "does not allow automatic discovery" which it actually does, and even after providing the link it asks for, it just won't connect... So, not bad for a start...but not really convincing either...
