Why 5 stars for a plugin that doesn't work on the most widely used operating system - Snow Leopard! Time to give it what it deserves!

Give Apple the half star, not the app. Apple killed this functionality for folders. Don't expect developers to squeeze water from the rock Apple hands them.

As a consolation prize, there is an "x-ray" feature that can be turned on in terminal, which allow viewing the QL thumbnails of the first ten files/documents in a folder view via QL -- admittedly not all the impressive a "feature" however.

http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20090912030240376

1) kill Finder, and in terminal:

2) "defaults write com.apple.finder QLEnableXRayFolders 1"

(n.b.: parentheses are mine -- don't include)

3) relaunch Finder

to toggle back, go through the same process but change the boolean "1" back to "0"

I don't get it. It's still the old version from 2007 and 10.5 only. Why has it been updated here on MU?

Because MU doesn't have a process for correcting inaccurate information in a listing without bumping the title as new. Previously, the 0.2 version had been listed for the last few years. Correcting it so that it lists and links to the 0.3 version bumped it to the top. That's a flaw in their system.

From what I understand, Quick Look generators are not allowed to generate previews and thumbnails for folders in Snow Leopard. So Apple killed this and other useful way to use Quick Look. Gee, thanks Apple.

This is brilliant!!! Stunning layout, extremely quick, and has even got an option for showing hidden files!
If I may suggest creating a quick installer, so that those who aren't familiar with the Library can easily install.

Anyway, definitely a five-star plugin! Genius, this stuff!

This is one of those options that should have been included in Leopard. Great stuff and highly recommend along with developer's other excellent quick look plugin for Zip files.

This and the ZIP file plugin by the same author (and of course QuickLook in general) is making my hold-off on upgrading to 10.5 more and more difficult.
