Simple Floating Clock is exactly what the name implies. When Apple released Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, they removed the option to show the clock in a floating, translucent window on the desktop. Some people liked that view so I decided to give it back
What's This?
It's a clock. A simple, floating analog clock that sits on your desktop any where you'd like to put it. It works on Mac OS X 10.6 and up. It may run on 10.5, but only on Intel machines.
Why?
Because Apple got rid of that option in the stock clock with the release of Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5) on October 26, 2007. Some people like it.
Pretty Boring, Isn't It?
Well, yeah. You can customize it a bit if you open the Preferences window with a control-click or right-click on the clock face. There's really not much to do to a clock and still leave it useful, though.

Don't panic! It still runs on MacOS at least up to 13.4.
After you attempt to run it, just to to System Settings>Privacy & Security, then under Security it will say "SimpleFloatingClock" was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer. Simply click "Open Anyway", type in your password, and then click "Open". It runs just fine!

Please update for Big Sur (MacOS 11.4). It's completely blocked from installing. What other analog clock is available anywhere? This seems to be the only one. Thank you!

Great app - until....... I updated to Mac Catalina! Now, the clock no longer shows on my desktop (I miss seeing it in the bottom right corner) and apparently is running because I have to launch activity monitor to get it to quit. HELP! I want my clock back!!!!!! When I get my clock back the review will be 5 stars - until then...........what time is it?

PANIC!!! This is a 32-bit app and I don't see a 64-bit upgrade. Oh, crap. I have used this for years. I have no idea how many times a day I look at it. Fingers crossed for an update.

Until Mavericks 10.9 everything was perfect with the clock - even with full face opacity the clock was occupying the top right corner of my desktop and nothing could get into it's space. After upgrading Mavericks to 10.9.1 the clock is still floating, but doesn't anymore occupy it's space - any new created desktop item or file saved to desktop gets underneath the clock and I have to move the clock first in order to move the item from underneath it. It became quite annoying and I would appreciate the fix for this best clock app.

Hi, The software is great ... i was trying it and accidentally checked "pass click through" option. I dont know how to access the clock now (settings, options, etc)...as i cant click it now....

But, selecting 'All Spaces' does not seem to make the clock show up in all my spaces. It stubbornly stays only in the space it was launched in. I'm using 10.5.8. Any tips?

Wow! I love it!
Until now I used Yahoo! Alive Clock widget, but not anymore. SFC is more customizable and has smaller footprint.
The only problem I found it - after initial change of settings I can't launch settings anymore. Any hints?

Apparently 7 people downloaded SFC 1.4.1 before I caught and fixed a tiny issue with desktop clocks on OS X 10.4. If you're seeing the Clocks on Desktop command dimmed, please re-download.
