This is a very handy app. But Rafael, could you please allow for multiple files to be changed at once? Routinely, my Mac disappears ALL my desktop icons. Drag-dropping and checkmarking each of 20 files gets old quick. How about ability to drag a selection onto the window and adjust them all at once? That would bump up my review to 5 stars for sure. Thanks!

Just downloaded ver. 3.1. Previously I used a much older version that had some serious bugs but got done what I needed. I very much like the new interface but there's a new bug that's annoying. I'm not able to select more than one file at a time. I tried shift-clicking and drawing a box around the desired files with no luck. I can only select one file at a time. For instance, I tried to select a group of files and copy them elsewhere. It won't work. Instead, I have to select one file at a time, copy it, then return and do the same with the next file. A royal pain in the butt. Because there's no help in the help menu, it took some wasted time to learn how to use the thing. The new version differs considerably from the older version I used and expected it to work similarly. Again, I like the new interface but it would have been nice to have had some idea what the heck I was doing. Lastly, it's not very reassuring that there's no way to contact the developer to inform him/her of bugs. What if a released version caused serious problems that would require the project to be temporarily pulled? The developer would have no notification of the damage that's being caused. That fact alone should make prospective users nervous.

Would be nice to be able to contact the author. I recently had to clone a system from a damaged HD with one bad block. When the clone was completed, all the invisible folders (eg usr, var etc) were visible. This handy little app made them invisible again but the aliases (eg var) although were marked as invisible by the app, still showed up as visible in the HD.

And, you are contacting me here… Isn't it ? Don't forget that invisibliX is not a repair utility. It deals with hidden files, but it is highly recommanded to restrict its use to your user account file system. invisibliX only check HFS+ hidden flag, but it exists many other ways to manage visibility status on Mac OS X (http://lists.apple.com/archives/cocoa-dev/2005/Jun/msg01436.html). I will still have a look to symlinks and aliases resolution issue in the next release. Thank you for feedback, RW

Issue persists in version 3.0, after closing the main menu, in Expose, your window shows up (invisible, of course). Would it not be better to terminate the window completely? Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/942685/Persistant_Window_InvisibliX.png

invisibliX 2.5 COULD be my favorite app for quickly and easily toggling the Finder's 'Show Hidden Files in the Finder' preference, and THANKS to its developers for making it free! However, it has some MAJOR PROBLEMS that make it too annoying to use until it's fixed: 1) When I click on the invisibliX menubar icon on my 13" MacBook, the drop-down menu drops down as expected. But, after I've made my selection from it, the drop-down menu DOES NOT DISAPPEAR as it should! And because some applications have lots of menubar items that force out other left-of-center icons, in order to make invisibliX's stuck drop-down menu go away I must first switch to the Finder to make the invisibliX menubar icon reappear, and only then can I click on it to make its drop-down menu go away! This is a MAJOR PROBLEM, and I'm amazed that no one has yet commented about it here. It also happens on my 20" iMac, so it can't be a machine-specific issue or a problem that only affects small displays. 2) invisibliX's icon is the least important item in my 13" MacBook's menubar, so I want it to display as far to the left as possible in case some other app's menus force my left-most menubar icons out. Around half of the times that I enable the invisiblix menubar icon in its Preferences and then quit invisibliX, its menubar icon disappears! I have to go through the process one or two more times just to get the its menubar icon to stick! This also is a major problem, especially since its menubar icon never shows up in the same location after restarting my Mac -- sometimes it displays on the far left, and sometimes in the middle -- so I have to disable and then re-enable its icon at least once just to get it to display on the far left side of the menubar. There's at least one other problem with this version, but I can't remember it just now. And since I'm also sending this info to invisibliX's devs, they'll have their hands full for awhile anyway. My Macs: A 2.4 GHz Core2Duo Unibody Aluminum 13" MacBook with 4 GB of RAM running Mac OS 10.6.3; & A 2.16 GHz Core2Duo 20" iMac with 2 GB of RAM also running OS 10.6.3.

Hey Porkpiehat, I apologize for troubles you had with invisibliX Menu, and I hope this new 3.0 version will successfully reconcile you with my freeware. invisibliX Menu was entirely rewritten with no custom UI features, so its behavior should be more compliant with the system. Thank you to use this app. Best, RW

Since this is freeware it is a pain to keep up with the current version as you submit a new version twice a week at least. I appreciate the price and updates very much, please don't get me wrong, but could you implement sparkle or some other auto-update feature for us that don't have time to check for new versions all the time? Thank you, I like the product... seems useful so far, I hope it continues to grow...

Be very careful with this app. Just now I tried to trash a hidden file from the app. When I finally managed to force-quit the rm command that was launched from invisibliX the m*****f***** had already erased half of my applications folder. Yikes!
