DEPOTset helps you to keep track of your stock portfolio. Just add each stock and the number of shares you bought. DEPOTset will give you an overview of your portfolio's overall performance.
This widget is designed to work for stocks, funds, bonds, certificates, and warrants listed at any German stock exchange, as well as some of the major stock exchanges around the world.
Within a day of reporting an error with Mountain Lion, Christian supplied a new version. Excellent!
PS: After the update, I needed to logout/login to make it work.
Perfect! Simple and to the point. Since it stopped working, I've been trying, without success, to find anything as simple and informative as DEPOTset. Wish it was an application, although it can be converted to an app easily with Amnesty Singles. Moreover, for EU citizens having bought shares in US$, it can translate seamlessly the aggregates to euros according to the current exchange rate.
Thanks a lot!
I'm sorry that the widget's "symbol" input is misleading. You're not able to input the stock symbol as used at american stock exchanges. Instead you have to type in an ISIN or a WKN. This widget gets it's data from a german stock data provider. So you have to find out one of the former mentioned values. For example AAPL has the ISIN US0378331005 or the WKN 865985. You can try to find out these identifiers used at european stock exchanges by querying a page like e.g. http://de.finance.yahoo.com/ and type in the name of the company you are searching for into the field at the left top named "WKN, ISIN, Ticker". You can easily get the WKN or ISIN displayed at the resulting page. After you type in the WKN or ISIN into the widget's "symbol" field, it will find the stock or fund and you can choose the appropriate stock exchange from the pulldown select list displayed to the right.
Hope this helps.
Nice idea, and pretty to look at, but I couldn't enter any stocks. Tried "aapl" for my favorite company, and "T" for AT&T, but the widget couldn't locate either issue. Also couldn't determine where to define the exchange as the developer claims.
Hope these issues get resolved.
