Counts very often totally wrong BPM numbers . If you prepare your Sets in ITunes (let Tangerine count the BPM) , you'll get in trouble when opening your playlists in Traktor, Serato or even Djay. And in my case, the software even analyses only 90% of the songs I bought on ITunes. Got a whole lot of work now to make the corrections manually, by writing 'comments' for each track to give other (commercial!) programms a Gate to overwrite the wrong analysis.

I'm using Tangerine for many years now. This day I've checked a lot of BPMs manually and it was very disappointing that a lot of Punk Rock songs have only the half BPM. I compared it with beaTunes and that is much more accurate (when turning of the online ressources).

IM a dj now for about the last 6 years and this is a life saver, sure like anything its not perfect.. but the BPM park rocks, is counts the BPM and then tags it, the accuracy if it so far to my knowledge is about 98% and if its off it off by alot like 200. but thats fine I just enter those by hand. I have over 75000 songs so I saved about a years worth of work.. loading BPM's by hand... a must buy for dj's

As a DJ, this helps me put together playlists in iTunes. Unfortunately, it gets the BPMs wrong a little too often and I end up using a Dashboard widget I downloaded to tap the BPMs in . . . Then again, the BPM counters on my CD decks aren't always perfect either. Maybe there's never going to be a near-perfect BPM counter -- well, except your own ears and a stopwatch.

Two things- I don't like that the software immediately begins analyzing my library. I tried to stop the analysis, but it only let me pause it. Perhaps there is a way to stop analyzing the songs, but it was not readily apparent (to me). Also, the program gave me a number of 5 digit bpm results. ex. Blondie's "Rapture" resulted in a bpm of 30272! Again, maybe it's me, but I've experienced the 2nd comment with other bpm programs. I hate that. DJ Lance Reynolds

Looks promising -- I'd like to use the BPM feature to make playlists to pace me while running.

Tried this some time ago, but didn't really give it a thorough going over. Love the idea of being able to create a list depending on my mood.

It is an interesting idea, but as others have said, it's hard to judge the utility of this app -- I guess that means I'm not the target customer! : )

well the interface is much better than BPMer although it doesn't do a very good job of always accurately counting the BPM - and the trial doesn't let you write back to iTunes, so no way to test if it blows away the artwork like BPMer does

1) this app has a great interface. Totally Mac-esque... I love the spinning orange. Almost makes me want to use as an itunes alternative. 2) it has a VERY limited purpose... to visually graph and organize songs by speed... which it does not always do very reliably. The Double/half beats per minute "features" did absolutely nothing when I tried them. 3) If the developer would add some kind of value in addition to the nice layout... and maybe a progress bar, it might interest me.

Interesting idea. Reminds me of a study that said learning was improved by listening to 60 BPM music. If this is true, this program might be nice to help make good background music for studying.

This was a great app in beta. Made it easy to build gym playlists. It was just a little too much, but at this price... very tempting. Maybe I'll have to start going to the gym again.

I gave it a try and I am not entirely sold on it yet. I may just need to use it more, but the "exercise" playlist it came up with using the preset include Coldplay and some other stuff I do not consider workout music.

Anyone have any real-world experience with Tangerine? I've had mixed results at best with software calculating BPM - i solved the mixed-genres issue for myself awhile back, so I'm interested in just the BPM calculation. Any one have experience with this? (Can't d/l trial at work). Many many thanks!
