I love and have used Disco for year. Now I am very sad they are not continuing to develop this app. They are now offering a free username and password on their website.

I am using the app under Snow Leopard and occasionally it will crash. I wish the developer would release the source code so that the mac community can continue to update the app. I cannot find anything that even comes close to it except for Toast. And that takes a huge step away from the simplicity. And I am not quite ready to dish out the cash for Toast.

Just found this official note on developers website: "As of July 2011 development and support of Disco have been officially discontinued. Disco will remain downloadable by any one who wishes to use it." They also made available free license there, but it seems this license does not work (at least it was so in my case).

So is this officially abandonware? I really hope that they do an upgrade to this app as, despite the more recent comments it does indeed work pretty well. It is not a replacement for toast but it is still a useful burning app.

So how about it, Austin, are you going to update this app like you said you were all those years ago when this version was released?

Don't waste your time or money on this. It hasn't been updated in ages and all of the hype by the developers has gone unfulfilled.

I purchased Disco as part of a MacUpdate promo bundle. Unfortunately, after testing it for several days I can honestly say: DISCO SUCKS!

The main problem with Disco is that it just doesn't work. I have attempted to burn 6 DVD+R DL discs with it - something I've had no trouble doing with, say, Disk Utility, Toast, etc. - and only one of them burned successfully. The rest of them failed with the completely useless message "Coaster Created." Thanks a lot, Disco!

I'd recommend just throwing your blank DVDs into the trash directly rather than waiting 40 minutes to have Disco tell you "Coaster Created."

Don't bother with this app until the developers get their act together and deliver something which actually works.

Disco has never been in a MacUpdate bundle. It must be another bundle.

This app is the highest of high example of the delicious generation of apps that came about a few years ago. It seemed like everyone just wanted apps to be pretty. Features? Nah, jus' give prettyyy...

This app should be at a museum;-)

Please beware: Since there isn't any support whatsoever, don't buy this app! I bought this app somewhile ago with PayPal but didn't get any serial to unlock the app. Support questions about that where not been answered.

It's been ~9 months since last update...

I'm not sure when the promised 2.0 will be released

I guess there's no incentives for Austin to fullfil his promise, since it's a free upgrade, developing apps for iPhone seems like a better cashcow...

No matter what I do, it just says "coaster created". I've tried turning the burn speed down to minimum, using CD-Rs and DVD-RWs, but nothing works. (Core 2 Duo iMac, Matshita DVD-R UJ-85J, firmware FCQ5)

I can burn to (and read afterwards :) the same types of discs using a Burn Folder just fine (a shame Apple never thought to put disc spanning support in) so it's not the discs or the drive at fault.

What's going wrong here? I'm running out of blanks...
