Super professional and polished app. Lots of control, very good results, many options for output, many variations, almost all useful (unlike similar apps I've tried).

I love posterino. It allows you such creativity at the same time as giving you so many ideas on how to display your photos. I have bought my own A6 And A5 cards and from now on will print all my postcards at home!! Much more fun and no delivery costs!

As a pro photographer I've tried various collage software/apps. Posterino is out on its own in terms of templates and versatility.

I've produced lots of collages for clients and they always look professional and cool.

Posterino's support is also second to non. If all app and software producers were as diligent as Christoph, my life would be a lot easier.

The customer service from Zykloid is exceptional and I highly recommend Posterino. I have used a lot of digital photography / graphic programs and found most of them to be disappointing - either too limited or too complex. Posterino is the perfect blend of power and ease of use for my students and I to be productive. Plus it's fun! I despaired of finding a collage creation program that would work on my Macbook OS X 10.5.8 until I found Posterino. Luckily, the folks at Zykloid keep their older versions available for trial and purchase - and quickly answered my questions.

I had back when it was at version 1 and would recommend as a must have app. The customer service is great and the business model is based on: simplicity, focus and excellence! Try it and get it you will be glad you did.

This is a great piece of software. It's powerful yet easy to use, and enables a new dimension of photographic enjoyment.

I recently returned from a three-week Baltic vacation with many hundreds of photos. I wanted to quickly share the experience with friends, so I fired up Posterino and let it auto-fill a big poster with 100 photos (imported from iPhoto). I deleted a few inappropriate images, dragged several shots around to achieve a balanced look, reframed a few others, added a title, saved my creation as a PDF, and sent it off to my friends (via Dropbox). The entire production took maybe 15 minutes.

I'm very pleased with Posterino, and recommend it to anyone with lots of photos to exhibit to friends & family.

I've found this to be a slick and easy way to create some really nice looking posters without the added complexity of Photoshop/illustrator etc.

I've send a couple of suggestions to the developers, and was amazed to get a through and complete response a couple of hours later.

I'm impressed, and will continue to use and recommend!

Posterino has been around for a while and has a few bumps int eh road, but here is what separates this developer from many others... when something is reported it is addressed in a very transparent manner and we get a new version - what a great response. This product does exactly what it is intended to do... and you will love it from the first click!

If a person already has Photoshop, I don't understand why there would be a need for this?

I posted a involved review, but that went south & I lost the review.

At any rate, a shorter & more succinct answer:

If you want to make your calendars & posters in Photoshop - go ahead.
Its for you to determine if this is worthwhile to you. You have an opportunity to testdrive.

Posterino is pretty good for the price & is getting better all the time.
It has a few glitches, but nothing too insurmountable.

I can make my posters & calendars in Photoshop as well, but sometimes a more limited feature set & focused application is handier instead. Its a wrapper over the top of your images. For some projects I might use Photoshop, for others, Posterino is far more convenient.

Posterino uses clipping masks linked to your original images on your drive.
Takes the layered Photoshop images, pngs or jpegs.

One example: Posterino allows resizing of images inside a clipping mask & the masks themselves without affecting uniform borders, if you applied a white outline to make them look like oldstyle photos in the layout.

In Photoshop, this would most likely require a stroke & become part of the image (depending upon technique). Resizing of any images in a PS layout & especially transforms affect that image effect.

Additional reply: Developer response is outstanding.

Its virtually always within one day,
if you are having a feature problem, whether its your own fault, or an application problem, the response is excellent.

I had what I believed was an issue with the newest calendar features, but the recommendation worked as advertised after contacting Zykloid. No issues. No glitches.

(There is an additional inspector & my machine was slow to show choices for the selected object for some reason. Perhaps it was impatience or operator error that appeared to cause the problem, its working well now).

Nonetheless, all is well.
To change calendar dates - you select the calendar month pane & go to Inspector > Object.

Doesn't seem to work with mail.app in 10.57 Nehalem environment. Click on 'mail' does seem to render something but isn't communicating with the mail app. Quite sad.

Sharing your photos is quick and simple as well. You can directly upload your completed collages to your Flickr account from inside the app, and export photos to iPhoto and your email. Posterino 2 also lets you create and send custom e-cards with your very own stamps and postmarks.

Posterino 2 lets you:
  • Easily customize the layout of your images: grid, irregular, random
  • Easily change the number of images in a document
  • Alter the frame you use for your images
  • Tailor the image filter (black-and-white, sepia, sharpening, etc.) to your needs
  • Enjoy new themed templates: A "western" theme automatically transforms all images into sepia. A "Black-and-White" theme makes all images B-and-W.
  • Integrate Posterino 2 with the latest versions of iPhoto, Aperture, and Lightroom
  • Export to disk, as an e-mail, to iPhoto, to Flickr, and as your desktop background
  • More easily customize your printing
  • Gain more fine-grained control of your document with a new inspector
  • View your document in full-screen mode
Because of its ease and compatibility with Apple iLife suite, Posterino 2 is the ideal app for creating beautiful photo collages whether you're a casual user or photography professional. The only limit is your imagination.
