Make files and folders invisible or visible.

Overview

GoodbyeHello is a utility for making files and folders invisible or visible. When you drop a file or folder on the app's Finder or Dock icon, or its main window, it will be made invisible. You can also use the File menu commands "Make Files Invisible..." or "Make Folder Invisible..." to make files or folders invisible.

Use the File menu command "Make Path Visible..." to make a file or folder visible. This command requires you to enter the pathname of the file or folder. You can also navigate to the files you want to make visible using the "Make Files Visible" command, and navigate to the folder you want to make visible using the "Make Folder Visible" command.

Note: pathnames of processed files and folders are logged to the console. You can open the console by selecting "Open Console..." from the File menu. The log is useful for copying file and folder pathnames into the "Make Path Visible" window's text field.names into the "Make Visible" window's text field.

Nice app. It should affect aliases though, and not their linked (parent?) file. In other words, I cannot make an alias invisible.

I like this app (though it’s overpriced by half). However, GoodbyeHello would be so much better if we didn’t have to mouse up to its File menu to select either ‘Make Path Visible’, ‘Make File Visible’ or ‘Make Folder Visible’. Instead, those commands could be selected more quickly and easily if each had its own button in the floating window.

Really I am not going to download software when Terminal is readily there on EVERY MAC for some DEMO program. You can rename any file to make it "invisible" to Finder by simple appending a period prefix to the file. For example: mv /Users/Carl/Desktop/Document.txt /Users/Carl/Desktop/.Document.text The mv command in Terminal will move or rename, in this case rename. It also works with alias files. And if you want it back, just remove that period! mv /Users/Carl/Desktop/.Document.txt /Users/Carl/Desktop/Document.text Simple. 1* Software here.

Even more scary is the fact that I see Invisibility Toggler 1.2 still exists, and it is free too! And this is only with a quick search to see what's out there. Still, you can't blame the developer. There is probably some kind of sophisticated and unique programming algorithm going on in this software to warrant the price we see (I wish I knew what it was). I guess some of us still live in a democracy where developers are allowed to reel in those "suckers" (I mean, users) like fish in the ocean using the developers' equivalent of a fishing rod (i.e., software tool). With plenty of users out there willing to take the bait, developers may well be the ones laughing all the way to the bank.

I wish developer all the best with his endeavours.
