I would avoid this plugin unless you're running something prior to Mavericks for sure. It's causing crashes these days.

Actually, it work fine on Mavericks for the applications I really need to be afloat, such as TextEdit, Preview and the Calculator.

A very useful application that is craving for an update. Sadly, the developer does not check her emails.

A great tool. It still works in many (but not all) apps on Mountain Lion. I've been using it for a few years. Very handy.

I should point out that the developer recently took down the link. Searching for another source. It's still on GitHub.

A great and very useful application, but not quite compatible with Mountain lion. My macbook froze a few times and I tracked the problem back to Afloat, uninstalled it and now computer is working again smoothly. I would love to see and update to this and would gradly pay for it.

Happy to see this still working in Mountain Lion (using EasySIMBL). Read the documentation for tips like holding Ctrl+Cmd to easily move/resize windows with the mouse and change opacity via scroll wheel. Main limitation is that it only works with Cocoa apps.

I've had this downloaded for some time. I just installed it on Mountain Lion and it works perfectly. Very cool addition if you like the ability to make windows float on top, or become semi-transparent. It works like a dream on every app I've tried it on. Great job Infinite Labs :)

I don't use the overlay feature much (it's main feature), but I LOVE the ability to click-n-drag a window from anywhere and the ability to resize a window from anywhere. I use those features constantly.

MacLudwig had trouble on 29 Jun 2009
I have problems getting afloat to work in most applications. The Afloat option, for example, is available for iChat but not for any of the MsOffice applications. So, I am unclear what sort of applications Afloat can and cannot keep afloat. Or do I need change some preferences to extend that number of applications that can stay afloat.

Nope, but with Snow Leopard coming out there will be a push to recode all Carbon-based apps in Cocoa (Finder, for instance, is now entirely in Cocoa in SL). I have no idea if Afloat will work in Snow Leopard at all, though. Keep your fingers crossed.

Installed it on MacOS 10.4.5 and tried to enable Afloat Beta 0.4 through Sys. Prefs.

Everything crashed. =)

My preferences for Safari zapped. =)

I've rebooted, reenabled Afloat - fruitlessly! and menubar started to blink.

I've decided to uninstall it, but haven't find the Uninstall option.

Guys, this is wrong. Please, help me with uninstallation and release stable version ASAP!
