CRONoMeter can provide diet advice, track consumption and exercise, and generally assist in all aspects of a CR diet.

CR (Calorie Reduced) diets require a lot of information to perform optimally. In order to restrict caloric intake, but remain healthy, users of the diet must track their vitamin, mineral, and protein intakes with great care.

We aim to provide a complete solution to the CR dieter. Current open-source diet-tracking applications fall short in some vital respects. Either they are not detailed enough, or they suffer from critical usability flaws. We believe

the latest downloadable version is 0.9.9, and they're providing a web version that integrates with iphone and android apps. i've not tried it yet, so no rating; just wanted to update others on the state of the software in the meantime

Wow, I am very impressed by this software - and it's free! I had given up on tracking my calories because it always takes so long when you do it online. This is quick, with so many great features that I wouldn't have thought of but which are very helpful. The running bar graphs are great, and I when you click on an entry item, the bar graphs change from totals to the information for that item. It's just unbelievably quick. I also love the quick search feature with food items - just like in my iTunes, I start typing and it starts narrowing.

Other great features: being able to copy the previous day's food onto "today", being able to delete multiple entries at once, a much larger set of nutrients than with most trackers, looks very nice.

Things I'd like to see: some of the foods are available only in grams, which is only really a problem when trying to estimate fluids - cups would be nice. And ounces too, while you're at it. And then I was going to say you should be able to create a recipe but I just found that so no complaints there.

Thanks for this great software!

I agree on the new food settings. With no other measurement than grams, it's hard to add fluids and liquid foods since they're measured in oz/ml/etc.

Other than that, it's pretty helpful and simple to use.

What would really set this off would be an iPhone version!

After writing my comments below, I have had an opportunity to experiment with this program a bit, and have decided that it's high time someone rated it to help get the word out.

This is a great program for dieters. Keeping a record of one's diet is an empowering tool, and this software allows one to keep meticulous records of not only calories, but fiber, vitamins, minerals, et. al., etc., etc. The display is professional, and the fact that it's a free program floors me.

In fact it dawns on me that the developers are missing out not marketing this program to all dieters. You should rename it, to reflect it's status as a powerful diet tool, rather than relegate it CR use.

Great program. Glad I found it. I don't live on a CR diet, but I do like to track the calories I take in, and my diabetic wife uses it to graph glucose levels.

How difficult would it be to give us a US measurements option? Currently I have to convert ounces to grams before inputting foods.

Thanks for the great program. I'm truly impressed with this free offering.

I've been following this little app for some time now. It's evolved to become almost a competitor to fully commercial products, and in some ways is actually better. If the same pace of developement continues, CRON-O-Meter wil soon become the premier application in its class. And it's free! Big kudos to the developers. CR is without a doubt the most scientifically valid diet out there. It's good we have this tool, though frankly anyone can use it, no matter their diet.
