Tab-style memo windows stick to edges of screen.

I agree with the previous comment. It's a GREAT idea and fairly well implemented and I want a note program like this but it feels unfinished with lots of small bugs. If the developer put the needed polish on this it would be a wonderful application.

I liked this app and started to use it alot, then came 10.7 and iOS 5 and another app that uses mobileme/.mac to sync bites the dust if I move to iCloud

I've been using Edgies for about 4 months now, and while the features are very nice, the stability is poor. I lose notes that don't appear until I restart the app. Edge action doesn't always work. When note color is changed, very odd behaviors can result, e.g., the entire note turns black. There are also some behavior "quirks" that need to be smoothed out, such as how the title updates when dynamic updating is enabled. I like the app, so I hope the developer spends some time improving it.

Whenever I tried to export an Edgie note the shareware notice would come up and wouldn't close. Each time I tried to close it, it would open up two more windows of itself. Eventually I had to force quit the application. I've always thought that the nag screens in Mac shareware were pretty offensive (isn't a trial period enough?) but this is ridiculous. I won't be using this program until this issue is...addressed, and sure as hell won't consider paying for it.

I do think the trial period should be more like 30 days. I also think that the term "shareware" should go away, as it's misleading. Along with many others (including me awhile back) you're wrong by thinking shareware is the same as freeware or donationware. By definition, even Photoshop is shareware since you can download a trial before buying. I haven't purchased Edgies yet as I'm still evaluating other stickies replacements, but from my experience so far it's the best of the bunch and just $10. The developer deserves to be paid for the effort if you're going to use it. Even if it was crap... if someone uses it, whoever went to the bother of making it should be paid. If no one uses it because it's crap, the developer needs to raise the bar and do a better job so he can make money. Uggh. People wanting something for nothing is just as bad as corporate greed.

I don't like this as much as DropDrawers. I don't like DragThing's method of incorporating DropDrawers. What I did discover was that DropDrawers (I kept a copy) has worked just fine on my Intel with Leopard. (And I'm on 10.5.4.) I've never had a single problem with it. Wish it were still being developed.

"Perhaps the developer just replaced the download file?" Likely so, and updated it to version 2.5.3, but it was the exact same link that we had posted for 2.5.2, and the same link now downloads 2.5.3.

I have one problem with this app: new Edgies notes are created when I click at the screen edge. Setting the preferences to disable this feature does not stop the action. I deleted the preferences file but the problem persists. I have a dual monitor set-up on a MacPro, with all the latest Apple updates. This one problem makes this app unusable for me.

I'm running Tiger and it DOES appear that the notes are spotlight searchable now (in response to previous comment). I love this application. I played around with a half dozen stickies replacements, as well as many note-taking applications and Edgies, with its customizable, stay-out-of-the-way- until-needed format is perfect. Runner-up was SideNote, which is also a shelf-style notepad (and free), but I shelled out the $9.99 for Edgies within 5 minutes for its customizability, spotlight searchability, and equally importantly, its snappy and fun feel.

Love the way it works. Love how easily it can be customized. Double love the bubble previews. Two things that would make this a perfect app for me: The ability to create a new note with just a key command. Make the notes Spotlight searchable. Great app that's going to stay on my machine. Matthew

I used to use OS X Notes, then sidenote; I prefer edgies. It is chock full of options, yet presented in a very simple and easy-to-use manner. I really did not mind paying the small shareware fee for this application. Well worth it.

very nice app! i really like the ability to have transparent tabs, and as many as i want! a couple of small bugs are: 1. the text doesn't seem to like staying aligned on the right.. especially with check boxes. 2, an option to not have a new ghost tab appear when ever at the screen side would be nice. keep up good work!

I have a dual monitor set-up and I wanted to have the tabs appear on the left side of my left screen (not my main screen). Unfortunately, if a create a note on the left side of my left screen, it simply moves to the left side of my main screen. Other than that, it's a great app.

I have made my comments before, and seems like the devoloper has add a lot more options in this version. It's nice that Edgies has function to easy-create notes around the edge of screen, although I still think it's a bit intruding to see huge tabs hanging around the edge of screen after they been created. There's no option to hind these tabs either, and this is why I still think Sidenote has a better solution for me. Besides that, I think Edgies still very useful tool. Also, I beg people in this community; if you wants to quote someone, please quoted them right. PLEASE do not put your words in other people's mouth. A new suggestion is always nice, but PLEASE don't make it sound like it's original when other people already made them before.Piterpan, do you understand what I mean?

Quit Edgies. Add the following two lines to Edgies.app/Contents/Info.plist: LSUIElement 1 (If the first line already exists, delete it and the line that follows.) In the Finder, drag Edgies out of /Applications, drop it on your desktop, then drag it back to /Applications. It should no longer appear in the dock.

Works for me. 1. Go to Prefs>Advance 2. Check "do not show dock icon". 3. Select O.K. 4. Quit Edgies 5. Go to your .apps folder and move Edgies out of the folder... (i.e. to your home folder.) Make sure you move it, not copy it. 6. Move it back into your application folder. 7. Open Edgies That should do it. If it doesn't work, let me know.

The Tear Off effect in this last update is great! And I noticed that the confirmation dialogues (discard, and "change title") are now On the Stickies itselfs! A lot of changes. Good design changes overall and attention to detail. This qualites allways makes good products. That makes me .GREAT! Thank you!

Great "little" utility! ELEGRAPHY: I don't find hard to hide the "Tab". Don't know what you mean. (?) I just found out that you can recize the tabs. great! I just find a bit clumsy (but it is just a small detail) the separated dialogue box that appears when you want to erase (discard) a "Tab". This confirmation dialogue should appear right netx to the (x) button and not in the meaddle of the screen, I ghave to go all the way to the meaddle of the screen to confirm (I have a 22" screen :-) ). I use this with Sidenote. Check it out: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/17654

Edgies is nice, but it appears that it's hard to hide the tab. I like sidenote and it has more elegant appearence. It has the same idea, but you can also tabbed notes like in Safari, and you can reset the hot keys for hide/show activation.

One minor worry : when watching a quicktime movie or a DVD in full screen mode, the tabs remain on screen. Any way the developer could fix that? Otherwise, great app!
