For a temperature monitor compatible with 10.5 try 'Temperature Monitor' from http://www.bresink.com/

I'd suggest MenuTemperature but I think it uses SpeedIt as well, which might be the problem. SpeedIt was only released for 10.4 and they only mentioned a 10.5 release being delayed way back when the GM copies first shipped for Leopard, with nothing added after the 10.4.10 release on InCrew's site. The only other way I know to read system temps is with CoolBook, which reads system temp, speed, and voltage; registered it also controls voltage and clock settings. You might have some luck as the developer released updates right up to 10.5.2 so it's at least been maintained.

Since 10.5 this app does not work anymore. A pity also because the developer does not answer to any email.

Is this ever going to be updated to work correctly with the new Santa Rosa MacBook Pro's? Or does anyone know of another app that does work with the new MBPs?

Everything bad said about this app. in previous reviews is true: worst of all, I can't make this launch, when I try all I get is a "Applescript failed to launch" window. NExt worse: this needs a localized version for the US which displays temperatures in F rather than C.

I change the graphics for the Xeon in my mac Pro. However, I wish I could change the widget to F instead of C. :(

I executed CoreDuoTmep v1.0 and select quit of the menu, so AppleScript error occurred. That message said,'NSReceiverEvaluationScriptError: 4(1)'.

I second the reqest to let it run only in the menu bar - it's unnecessary to have it take space up on the dock when the information is already in the bar. If folks feel they need it on the dock as well, could it be made an option? Thank you!

i like the fact that it shows the current speed, but i'd run it all the time if it had a preference to run it only in the menu bar.

The window no longer remembers where it should be from one launch to the next. If I remember correctly, that was one of the fixes in the previous update, wasn't it?

Not sure I trust this little app. (Though nothing else will give me a reading at the moment.) The window will report that the temp is around 140 deg F when I am "idle" as in just browsing the net. But the display I had set up in the menubar? It was showing 166 deg F or more. I was thinking my system was possibly running too warm which was why I opened the main window. Not sure now. I have AppleCare and I will watch it for any problems but like I said, I am not sure if I can trust this apps reading of the temps.

A big thanks to the developer for listening to users concerns/gripes over the password/keychain issue. This is now a 5* app. Excellent.
