Desksaver Plus is a neat widget interface that allows screensavers to be run right on your desktop. Select from any standard screensaver on your computer - even RSS feeds. A CPU percentage indicator shows whether or not the screensaver is bogging down your system.
What's new in Desksaver Plus
Improved stability when computer wakes or goes to sleep. Run screensavers downloaded from the web, too.
Cool idea. I didn't run screensaver as desktop background earlier because I have to run other app and change settings. Now I can do it right from Dashboard. Now my screensavers are back in action! Thank you developer for creating such a handy widget. :)
impractical , yes,
cool oh yeah, when friends come over, and see our 20" imac G5 with all of my itunes artworks, flipping through or running Lotsofglass, its all pretty normal till i pull finder or safari and its like Whoa.
I've used several little applications to set my screensaver as an animated background (in conjunction with SetAlphaValue to create translucent windows for that Windows-pundit 'ooh aah' response).
Having a screensaver on your desktop is very impractical from a usability point of view but it's very impressive. This widget is handier than stand-alone applications and it's always no further than a keypress away.
Runs fine on my system.
