I’ve downloaded version 2.0 and after installation, i got nothing! no any kind of options when i right click on the desktop or in the finder!! the software’s just got an icon in the “preferences” and thats it.. how to get this thing to work? i use OS X 10.8.2
Try Neu
It works on Snow Leopard, is on the Mac App Store, it's $10 though, but for me worth it. Or try the free version they have on their site, its not quite "right click easy", but close.
NuFile is a very useful little Contextual Menu plugin. On my Mac it seems to have a little bug, though: I can never put more than 13 items on the list in the Preference Pane. If I do so, the Finder crashes and is relaunched immediately. I could not discover where this limitation comes from. It would be nice if there could be more than 13 items.
Apart from this: I am very happy with it and use it regularly;-)
I found a small bug: if you're in a 'locked' folder, and you try to use NuFile, the Finder crashes. I like NuFile. It's awesome. great job. Have a wonderful wonderful life.
That's what I call a responsive developer! Do you still want the crash log for 1.9, or have you superceded that with 2.0?
1.8, as you stated, works fine by the way.
Nice idea, but why an installer for a CM? Anyway, it doesn't seem to work with 10.3.9. It appears in the menu, but when I try to open the sub-menu it crashes Finder.
Great utility. One problem though - on 10.4.8, with NuFile v1.9 installed the "Open With..." selection in contextual menus freezes and crashes the Finder consistently. The usual suspects (repair permissions, reset LaunchServices database) don't work at all.
I am not sure how useful it is/ Can somebody shed light on this. if it has to create a new file, surely you would like to give a preferred name. If you have to write something in the file, you will stil need to open it.

Well I answered the poll with answer one so I figured I owed you this... This CM is probably one of my favorite feature in Path Finder and CyberDuck. Why Apple didn't include it in the Finder is beyond me. Thanx for giving birth to this project. I sure hope my gratitude, and everyone else's, will be enough to tell you you should go on with this project, sometimes there are things money can't buy... that's why there are freewares (donationwares included).
I'd recommend converting "TEX" to "TeX" and "Html" to "HTML", keeping in mind that "HTML" stands for "HyperText Markup Language" - a set of four nouns.

Quote from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TeX
The name is properly typeset with the "E" below the baseline and reduced spacing between the letters; systems that do not support subscript layout and backspacing use the approximation "TeX".

Useful tool nonetheless.
