Shiira Mini for Mac1.3

Great looking widget, but I'm afraid it's not quite there yet. Lots of sites don't load/work correctly. (For example, THIS site doesn't work.) You have to type "www" or ".com", which is a bit of a pain. Bookmark layout could use some revamping. Solid start tho!

This is great, indeed better and more useful than I thought it was going to be. I don't *browse* the web with this widget, I use a regular web browser for that. Rather, I use this to have quick access to one or two web sites I frequently want to look at. Specifically I have a Shiira mini browser on my dashboard that is set to the National Weather Service weather page for my area. It's so much better to go to the source than to have the exceedingly limited info that even the best "weather widget" has to offer, and it's still reasonably compact. I don't want to see the Shiira mini widget turn into bloatware - it is only useful as long as it loads quickly and takes up a minimum amount of space. And speaking of that - the one thing I'd like added is the ability to resize the window via normal window resize control. That way we can make it as small or as big as necessary for the specific web site it is set to.

really well done, nice interface, slick and quick. I really don't use the dashboard as much as I *think* I should, this makes me want to use it more. love shiira; need some enhancements for the mini to be really useful though: tab button should get me into the url field or the (missing) search field. would also like to be able to map a button to the 'launch in real browser' button. but otherwise, superb. and if you don't have shiira, check that out, a really nice browser that gives safari + camino a good run for their money.

Does what it's supposed to do. The amazing thing to me was that it was easy to read. A very good demonstration of what can be done with a widget. I'm not sure about how useful it is, but I'm keeping something this cool around until I think of the right situation! The options on the back could do with a few more words - the minimalist labelling left me experimenting to figure it out.

Unlike those who have open browsers all the time, this widget is very useful, easy to set up home page, and import safari bookmarks. The UI is sweet.To just simply check certain sites quickly it can't be beat. Thanks to the developers.

Cute but totally pointless since I have a web browser open all the time anyway. Shiira is a pretty good browser, and it pains me to think how much time was spent on this little bit of pointlessness that could have been better used to improve Shiira itself. (Hence my score of 1 for "value," even though it's free.)
