MovieFrameGrabber is a small app to capture a frame of any Quicktime-compatible movie. It can also export movies, as you can with QuickTime Pro. Drag a movie into the blue box to load it and the rest should be self-explanatory.

Or you could take a screenshot and avoid downloading some bloated REALbasic program.
command-control-shift-4, make the selection, and it throws that screen section into your clipboard. It's built-in to the OS.
Nice, simple programme. You drag a QT into the blue window, then you chose the frame you want, hit "Save Frame" and you are done.
Much easier than using QT or FCP.
One thing I noticed - and I am torn between calling it a feature or a bug - is that each frame gets exported in the same size as your windows is sized. I.E. When you have a 600x400 QT file, but your window is, say 605x605, you get a square picture.
What I would love is the following future features:
Automatic numbering of exported frames.
Option to export in native QT size (with option of having 16:9).
Display of current window size.
A Text saying "Drop QT file here" instead of the blue screen - this threw me off at first; blue screen to me suggested that I would have to plug in a DV source.
That said, great little - and free - programme. Thanks for your work!
True drag and drop and screenshots also work as mentioned by the negative responses below.
However it's a small, simple app that does what it says and does it well. I just tested it out.... maybe I'll use it and maybe not, but it deserves an honest review.
Sorry about the broken link-I'm trying to get my website back. Hopefully just a few more days...
