Popup menu for hierarchical browsing of folders and files.

Overview

Filegazer is a popup menu for hierarchical browsing of folders and files.

The discovery of your filesystem - The size and capacity of hard drives have been growing out of control. Filegazer is designed to cope with that. This tool enhances our interaction with disks and their content. The overall goal of Filegazer to find what you need faster, better and while having fun!

Filegazer allows fast navigation through your file system. The concept of the menu is used to provide a standard hierarchical browsing experience. This allows you to navigate your disk with only a few moves of the mouse without clicks, double clicks, selections, etc... This mechanism comes in really handy when you just need a random file somewhere in your disk.

Unique preview capabilities - Filegazer has unique feature that distinguishes it from any other tool, Finder included, lays in its preview capabilities. Forget about miniatures, thumbnails, or poor file representations. Filegazer provides a rich preview for any major file types such as images, text documents, audio and video files, Web pages and more.

Filegazer provides image previews for major formats and it is optimized for JPEG images so that you can have a high performing tool for inspecting your digital camera photos. The text document preview includes RTFs, PDFs, and even Microsoft Word documents.

The fast navigation, which a hierarchical menu system offers, together with the unique preview feature, makes Filegazer a key application in your system that you won't be able to live without.

This is a great little application, features a pop-up menu which is configurable to any folder and allows you to navigate quckily with ease using a hierarchial menu and even see a preview of any documents you pause on - including PDF's, JPG's, PSD's etc etc. You can drop items on the menu and have them put away in the folder you choose. To sum up, it's sort of like FolderPop implemented like MaxMenu and featuring the unique file previews. Excellent work indeed.

This is a really cool app but it hasn't been updated in ages. I've emailed the dev at least twice about a feature request and have received no reply. I would love to see mouse out of frame collapse the windows instead of having to click on the "x". For me this one change would make the app a buy. I am disappointed that the dev neither responded nor implemented the feature.

I love it. Simply love it. If only I had an iMac, I would get the full benefit of website previews (designer by trade). I have one suggestion: Add the option to choos between standard Mac-menu style (current) and bezel (preview window for movies and the top header of the main menu). Transparant black, white fonts and a darker highlighter. Beautiful, clean and stands out without "cluttering" the screen with white and blue menus.

SIX Stars ! Best new application ! I love this. I manipulate a lot of files on my file server every day. This gem saves me a lotta' clicking and application launching. I do not want to live without this beauty. Maybe the software developer should sell this beauty to Apple™ - so that they can roll it into the next TIGER update !!!!

Lovely program. Really cool. Therefore I bought it today. But when prewieving sound files in my IMac G5, things are a tad unstable. I hope for improvement here in future updates. It is very irritating that the Filegazer preference panel pops up on my screen all the time. For example when I quit from another program. I love a clean interface so I am considering disactivating Filegazer until this preference panel stops popping up when I do not want it to. I have looked for a off button but found none.
