Task management system for OmniOutliner.

Overview

Kinkless GTD is a free Mac-based "getting things done" list management system. It's a single OmniOutliner document that allows you to manage two views of your GTD tasks: projects and actions. You can archive completed projects to get them out of the way, and it should all look lovely in whatever colors and fonts you choose.

This is freeware (it's just some applescripts, after all), issued under the GNU General Public License. So, you know, go crazy and just share away.

What's new in Kinkless GTD

Version 0.83:
    Release Notes in brief:
  • Everything syncs: all changes to all columns are now synchronized across all views of a task (Projects/Actions/iCal).
  • Deletions now handled with the good old delete key on your keyboard.
  • Singleton tasks section, now a full citizen.
  • Better QS action… and fancy "task shorthand" to make it easy to send a task to a specific context/project.
  • Task aging.

I have downloaded the trial version of OmniOutlinerProfessional 3.10.3, use Lion OS, and I can't get KGTD to install properly on my machine. Also, I cannot access the kinkless website. I get an error "You don't have permission to access /kgtd/release/current on this server." This is so strange. Do you guys have any suggestions or ideas about what's happening? Thanks, Alison

This is the essence of Mac and the definition of cool. Check out 43 Folders, download Kinkless, get a trial licence for OOP and view the video. 'Geek for the rest of us'.

? What is cool in sync and wait? Is it a cooool app that can't even clone items? Cool? Come on. There are apps out there providing productivity out of the box. But if you want sync and wait and sync and wait, do it.

What a great idea! Instead of wasting time building a whole app, the author slapped together some apple scripts and it runs very effectively. I've used omni outliner for months for my todo lists. Just last week, I learned about the Getting Things Done system, and was surprised someone had implemented it with Omni Outliner. I do wish there was a native OS X app, as there are limitations to a system written as apple scripts on top of omni-outliner. Even with those limitations, kGTD gets the job done. I am using it for everything and loving it.

BIG thanks for making this available (and free). I just started familiarizing myself with KGTD 0.69 a couple of days ago, and was happy to see this newer version. I'm not sure whether this feature is included, but it would be nice to be able to easily schedule repetitive tasks. For example: "Exercise' occurs Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. 'Monthly meetings' the second Tuesday of each month. 'Weekly review' every Sunday. Etc. Perhaps this feature is available through iCal. I just need to spend more time with this program and familiarize myself with iCal too, since I don't use it. Once again, thank you very much for the wonderful scripts.

The problem here is you need OmniOutliner Pro to make this thing work. Seriously, there ought to be a column in the listings that indicates when something is a plugin or document or anything that requires other paid software beyond the OS to run. A free add-on isn't free if you still have to buy the app to use it.
