Wraparound overview

Wraparound is an application primarily intended for users with large and/or multiple screens, which allows the mouse cursor to "wrap" around the screens. Rather than spending time and energy moving the cursor across the screen, from one side to the other, simply drag it off one edge and it immediately appears on the other side.

Wraparound can handle even the most abnormal of screen-layout configurations, even allowing windows and other objects to be dragged though screen edges. And if you're worried about not being able to hit your menu bar or dock without the edge to stop the cursor, you can always turn off horizontal or vertical screen wrapping to suit your preferences. It also preserves screensavers and Exposé functionality with variable-sized non-wrapping areas at the corners.

Works ok.I like the settings allowing finer definition of where WrapAround works or does not.

That said, Wraparound frequently turns itself off with no warning. I have not been able to find a pattern. Like another user, I use BTT, but not willing to turn it off since I use it too much.

Another problem I have found: I keep my computer on all the time for weeks at a time (except for when it is set to go to sleep); I rarely restart. I have found that when using Wraparound with Skype, the Mac OS X WindowServer jumps to about 100% CPU usage and the computer becomes very unresponsive.

This can happen after a few hours or after a few days and is VERY repeatable. If I run WrapAround OR Skype ALONE, I do not have this problem. This problem also exists with v1.6 but I could not figure out the source so stopped using WrapAround. I only rediscovered the problem when I started using v2.0b2. I am still on Mac OS X 10.6.8.

There seems to be an issue with Wraparound and "App Tamer". I have a multimonitor setup (but that's probably not the issue) and App Tamer. App Tamer is a tool which freezes an inactive application to reduce the CPU use. It works very well on OSX 10.6.8. However Wraparound gets disabled every time when the mouse (focus) switches from an active application to an inactive (frozen through App Tamer) application. I am moving my mouse from one monitor with active application to another monitor with inactive application. After the mouse moves and the inactive application gets reactivated, Wraparound is STOPPED and I have to manually restart it from the menu. This happens every time when I do the steps above.

Absolutely Excellent. Thank you for your effort and making this compatible with OSX 10.6.8. I am using Matrox Triplehead2go and being able to wrap mouse around the right most corner to left most corner is absolute must. Feature request: I would like to be able to define split zones. For example divide the upper and lower zone into 2 half zones and assign different behaviour to them. For example: The left bottom zone - no action. The right bottom zone warp around the left top. The left top zone wrap around the bottom right. The right top zone - no action. It could go more complex with 3 zones arrangement. The reason we need this is because Matrox Powerdesk software doesn't provide vertical screen arrangement. It only has horizontal display arrangement (unless you have multiple graphic cards). So while horizontal arrangement is good for gamers (Matrox is the gamers religion), for video editors and programmers, it's nightmare for anybody who needs vertically arranges screens. Wraparound is definitively the right direction and thank you for your effort. This app, Wormhole and MouseWarp are great help. I am still looking for an application which would allow me to define split hotzones on the screen and then assign actions when mouse reaches them where action would be jumping to another screen. (In Matrox, the screens act as one vrtual maxi screen, so they are not seen as separate displays.) If anybody knows about a tool to assign actions and "mouse warps" to hotzones on the screen, please post it here or please send me PM. Thank you .

Does this version (2.0b2) work with System 10.9.2? It will not start on my machine. {This version worked fine with Sys 10.9.1.}

Great little utility! It was a bit buggy in 10.6.8, but this recent build has fixed that. (This pane NEEDS a way to adjust star ratings after they've been clicked other than starting all over!)

Works in 10.6.8 despite 10.7.4 caveat except for clicking on edges to enable/disable, and I can't reverse "Enable All (edges)". I don't know whether it's a bug or incompatibility.

Wraparound is one of my favorite Utilities, installed on every Mac I have (and had), ever since I discovered it. 1.6 works now great again on Lion with two Monitors! Very usefull on wide screens - or two Monitors, but I use it as well on my MacBook 13'.

Great idea for mouse users. Tablet users with a stylus, it's pointless since the tablet stylus will use the entire screen area you can't really "wrap" the cursor movement with the stylus. It does wrap around, but unlike a mouse, when you move the stylus it's back under your cursor as expected. Great idea. Great price point! If you've got multiple screens and a mouse, I'm sure it's great.

Great app!!! Very simple. Does what it's supposed to do. I have one small issue. My set-up is dual monitors, side by side, left is main monitor and my Dock is vertical on left side of main monitor. When I have the cursor over the dock at the edge of the screen, the Dock flickers the magnification, i.e, it grows, shrinks, grows, shrinks. I noticed that the edge of the cursor appears on the right of the second monitor. Also, as it flickers, the cursor drifts up one pixel at a time Please fix.

Although I don't have multiple monitors, this little app does come in handy sometimes. For people that do have more than 1 monitor, arranged -vertically-, is it possible to set this up so that the cursor moves from, say, the top monitor to the bottom, and vise-versa? The user would probably have to configure something to tell what monitor is on top of the other, though.

Downloaded and installed it. Works flawlessly here. I have to say that this is -very- fascinating! I'll give it a testdrive to see if this is the right kind of thing for me. Right off the bat, I can tell that it will most likely mean a relief to ones wrist muscles! I'm a bit anxious as for how much system memory it takes, though.
