I typed my Early 2009 24" IMac serial number into the "Custom" part of the app and it showed a question mark for the location.

Does not identify my early 2009 iMac, and thinks it was made in March 2010.

I also think it needs an update. Can't find my late-2010 13'' MBA.

Just curious how new your MacBook Pro is. This works great for my MacBookPro, giving both the place it was built and the date, but (sadly) I don't have a new MacBook Pro, mine is 2008.

Recognizes my iPod Photo but not my iPod Video 5.0g. If I manually type in the Serial it gives me the date of manufacture of the iPod video but not where it was made.

Doesn't give a place of manufacture for my new iMac, but does give an approximate build date. By the way, the download is just 73.4KB, not 73.4MB as it currently shows.

Just a small tip to US users: the date reported is in European date order: day, month, year.

For the longest time I thought my machine was made during an interval between April and October, when I really was during the first week of March.

'European'? You probably mean 'non-Amercian' - there is no other place on earth than USA which uses the strange and illogical mmddyyyy format.

It's… complicated: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Date_notation_by_country
At least Canada doesn't use km/h and mph at the same time… I hope.

@ivanovitch, it's not illogical if you grew up with it. Today is September 3rd. You can also say today is the 3rd of September. They are both the same thing. My ex wife uses ddmmyyyy and 24 hour time because she used to live in Spain, but I find it annoying.

@Thyx, in the US the speedometers on cars have both mph and km/h because we were supposed to be switching over to the metric system back in the 70s. So that got people used to it. We never did. The most that came from that was liter bottles of soda.

To find where your shuffle was built, it's embossed in the USB protection cap. Need to get the right reflection of light to see it, and it's small, but it's there
