I always wondered if it was possible to "turn off"/"quit" Dashboard but I'm not really sure why I'd want to. I'm not sure why I'd want to toggle it on and off either. I'm not trying to bash this program...just trying to figure out if I'm missing something here.

No problems so far with the app. This is just the thing I was looking for: it doesn't stay open if you do something with it, it toggles the dock, just like the name says. Way to go developer!

The Dashboard eats huge resources; one can really see the difference have a G3 or sub 1hz G4. One you have invoked Dashboard, the app will continue to make calls on your system resources even if you leave the Dashboard environment. This is a problem with widget browsers. This software is one of 2 easy solutions and I thank the author.

Dashboard takes up memory when it's running, and if you don't use it, you can free up that memory for other apps. That is why this app is useful, if not completely original. There are other apps that can turn off Dashboard, or you can turn it off via the command line.

And just in case you're geek enough to want to use the command line: To disable dashboard: defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean YES;killall Dock to turn it back on: defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean NO
