While it's cute and looks good, I think the logic of the game falls under "kids" because frequently it doesn't block your attempts and basically lets you win. While I guess that's good for a kid's developing ego, it kinda looks like sloppy programming.
I enjoy playing this game sometimes, but if I win, it will often either change my x to an O and make itself win, or it will take an extra turn so that it can win. I find this particularly amusing - a computer game that cheats.
This widget is, in fact, based on a game I wrote for my 6 & 7 year old kids. I purposely made it so the computer would make mistakes and the AI is pretty simple, anyway. So, most adults probably won't find this the most challenging game widget around. If there's interest, I could write a "souped-up" version that plays optimally.
1. The AI is pretty poor. If I start on a corner space, I can always win. If I start on an edge space, I can win or draw.
2. There does not seem to be an option to let the computer go first.
3. On the plus side, the interface is extremely simple and easy to use, and I discovered no bugs (other than the poor AI).
