I'm very happy with this product. I've been using it since version 1.1. I had updated to 2.2 along the line but after recently updating to maverics found that it was grayed out. The developer was most helpful and sent me the terminal script to make 2.4 work in Mavericks. I do have one grizzle in that there is no upgrade path and I now have to pay full price for what is basically a 2009 app which needs to be modified to work with 10.9. I do respectfully suggest that the developer introduces an upgrade pricing structure to support long time customers.

I had some problems running the ipfw-Firewall via Noobproof and Doorstop.

Finally I think NoobProof is a little more trustworthy because this app is from 2009 and NoobProof is an Opensource-Program.

I'm a little bit confused: DoorStop X 2.3 was released approximately one year ago. And the version provided here is dated from October 23, 2009

I think it's from 2009. But were added to the macupdate-Database in 2010.

It's a common mistake of MU i think.

Very nice tool, fast, easy and reliable. But you should not call it "firewall". DoorstopX is not a firewall at all. It is only an interface for the Mac OS X "ipfw" firewall.

After just buying the Doorstop Suite a couple months ago, I just can't reallly see a reason to upgrade at 40 bucks a crack. Guess I'll look around for something else.

This would be a fine product but for one thing: for some reason, it makes access to the websever running on my machine hideously slow. As a web designer, waiting over a minute for a page to display is simply not acceptable.

The product is excellent. It's nice to FINALLY have Doorstop as an option again. The $40 (introductory?) price seems far too high. Maybe it's because I already paid that much for the OS 9 version of Doorstop which I had to abandon when OS X was released. And because I paid $34.99 for FireWalk X because there was no Doorstop X for such a long time. Anyway... it is an excellent product. I'm clicking "No" for "Recommend DoorStop X Firewall?" only because of its price -- I can't in good faith recommend it to my friends and colleagues. At $29.99, I'd consider it more of a value.
