Dashboard in Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger" is a very nifty way to get a quick glance at a ton of information without the hassle of opening a lot of applications. It's an easy mouse click or keystroke away when you're in front of your Mac and need to take a peek. But what about when you turn your attention to something else or walk away for a few? Wouldn't it be neat if Dashboard popped up by itself after a certain amount of system idle time? Well, it's pretty neat indeed with Dasher, a preference pane that gets your Dash' on automatically.

An excellent looking utility, must be very useful. But you must consider, that it may consume some more system resources in the background to keep Dashboard "ready"

I used to have to wait about 15 seconds each time I launched Dashboard for it to "catch up", but now with Dasher launching Dashboard every so often throughout the day, when I launch DB manually, it's all ready to go! No more waiting for widgets to update the first time I launch them (Plus I need more memory). This is great, thanks!

Dasher does what it is designed for well. I wish it added another option: To activate dashboard upon sleeping the machine. I find it useful to have weather, stocks, and other widgetty goodnes ready for me when I get to the computer in the morning.

It could use a few more features to help justify being a PrefPane.

Works as advertised... but would be great to have a further option in Dasher that activates the screen saver.

ipeck had trouble on 25 Feb 2008
It killed my original dashboard app !!!!!! (osx 10.5.2) Dashboard wont open even with all the dasher files erased... (i searched for hidden files too and erased em) I click on my dashboard icon and nothing.... even fast start with exposé wont work anymore. I am very angry at dasher.

Be careful when using this..
