Various settings need to be preserved when
your Mac is turned off so they will still be
present at the next system start-up. This
information is kept in parameter RAM (PRAM),
which is stored in the clock chip together with
the current date and time setting. The clock chip
is powered by a battery when the system is off,
thereby preserving all the settings stored in it.
PRAMInspector lets you see exactly what is
stored in your PRAM, so you can detect PRAM
problems by yourself.
