This looks like a fairly nice app made by a DELUSIONAL developer. S/he may have some difficulty finding insane people to pay $15 for something that's available for FREE via at least 25 other sources. Duh.

Does what it says it will do. Helped me fill in some major gaps in Album Art.

This app is set up exactly as I expected and the GUI is great. It's too bad it freezes every time you type in two characters to any of the text boxes, making it completely worthless.

I've got to agree with the other posters that ACF does not work as it should. True that. It looks to be good, but does not retrieve covers that are... and should be out there. Apple and GimmieSomeTune (especially) work well and it blazes. I paid for this way back and have hoped it to come to realize its potential, not. I do hate the way it stalls my system... its own window and is very slow. C'mon there developer, I know you've got it in you. peace

I've been using this app for a while now and saw it's potential usefulness coming to an end as iTunes added the functionality. However, I have tons of songs that iTunes doesn't find cover art for so I thought this app would work. I was wrong. I've actually had to go through my library and delete covers that are WAY OFF and are TOTALLY WRONG. It's a bummer and a waste of time.

Continues to be a nice solution for album artwork retrieval, even in its "Lite"/free form. I bounce between this and Amazon Album Art 2.0, depending on how I feel about Dashboard on any given day.

it's incredible that this app can be 'updated' almost on a weekly basis, adding bells and whistles - and yet the developer seems unable [or unwilling] to address its major shortcoming, namely that the core search function is absolute pants

I think it's useful. What is completely unuseful, is the developer's site: three versions have passed and I can't even connect to the download link, nor to the website of amphonic design!!!

You can do this for free without downloading or installing a thing. Highlight all the album's files in iTunes. Search Amazon for the album, click on the album cover to get a decent-sized file, and drag the image from Safari to the "Album Art" panel of iTunes. You can do this for any image from Safari to iTunes album art, so feel free to substitute any other artwork source for Amazon. Google Image Search works pretty well, too.

Common guys...have ever heard the words "Fetch Art" for album covers,"SizzlingKeys" for itunes control or even "Dock Art" for cover of the album playing instead of the itunes icon in the dock??? ALL 4 FREE..........

Unable to find a single cover in over 40 albums searched for. Perhaps you should attempt to add past just the narrow US based "in-stock" databases/sites. Sadly this is useless to me with such a narrow range of albums.

.DMG file for 3.1.10 is screwed. Clicking the link downloads only an unmountable 196 KB file.

Works great as far as it goes. I don't like having to either save the artwork and put it into iTunes by hand, or let it autosave to iTunes. Where's the click to save to iTunes so i can be sure it's the right art first? Needs to be able to look up songs selected, not just the one currently playing. 15 minutes running is a pretty stingy full feature trial, but as it's possible more than once, it's not too bad.

Clutter provides this functionality, and is free. It might be worth checking out if you don't find ACF to your liking.

[in reply to previous post] no. this app just has a poorly written search function. the amazon website's own search engine will nearly always return several results and generally find the correct artist/album without requiring you to be 'letter-perfect' in your search term. since this app presumably hooks into amazon's API to achieve its functionality, the fact that ACFs search function is so much worse than amazon's is clearly due to a shortcoming in ACF itself. and we're not talking about wildly off-the-mark titles or spelling errors here; i've already pointed out below that a search for "the clash - give em enough rope" returned no results with ACF, whereas "the clash - give 'em enough rope" [note apostrophe] found the album art. that's hardly what i call user friendly searching!

One thing about cover art finders in general is that you have to be very accurate in what you search. You can't just type in "AC/DC blood" and expect it to work. You really have to do some research and make sure the title and artist are correct. And yes kids, spelling does count! I had no idea AC/DC was so popular nowadays!

Nice interface... but poor search capability (and after all, isn't that why I'm being asked to pay? I mean, really!). Here's an example: using 3.0.6, searching for "AC/DC" and "blood" gets me "Sorry, No Cover Found". However, at the free SlothRadio (http://www.slothradio.com/covers/) Amazon cover finder; using the same search of "AC/DC" and "blood" gets me the actual cover. The website algorithm works, the paid application algorithm doesn't. Easy choice.

very promising and useful looking app. i have a couple of niggles tho': 1- the interface can be quite sluggish at times [is this a java app by any chance?] 2- searching needs to be a bit more flexible [eg. searching for AC/DC 'if you want blood' returns no results whereas searching for AC/DC 'if you want blood you got it' finds the appropriate album cover

It would also be nice if it followed basic human interface guidelines with copy/paste. ;) Come on, this is basic stuff guys. Other that that, the app is great.

It would be nice is this app downloaded the large 500 x 500 album covers instead of resizing them to 300 x 300. Other than that, a very nice companion to iTunes. I would also like to see this app as an iTunes plugin instead of a separate app.

Did a search for 12 different albums. ACF only found cover art for one of them.
