iSnip 1.4 is unstable under Leopard, as stated before - unless you choose "Disable clipboard history" in the Preferences. After doing so it's a reliable and very useful companion.

I have been using isnip for years. I never had problems with 10.5 but a recent upgrade to 10.6 resulted in the program frequently hanging or quitting altogether. I had actually looked at other programs but decided to fiddle with isnip first as I have a large library of snippets that I didn't want to lose or recreate. I discovered that if I set the preferences to limit the history to 20 items it has worked perfectly without hanging or quitting.

iSnip was a great application, but under 10.6 it caused hanging, so it had to be disabled. Do not use iSnip with Snow Leopard.

This app is awesome. I'm a web developer and can't tell you how useful this is to me. Sometimes it's the simplest things... If I could request one feature, it would be syntax colouring for different coding languages. But really, that's just an aesthetic consideration. Keep up the good work.

Hi iSnip users, iSnip 2 is currently in the early stages of development. I've decided to rewrite the entire thing to take more advantage of some of the tools provided in the OS (CoreData being one of them), so it's "back to the drawing board." But yes, iSnip 2 is forthcoming (when, I don't know... I do have school and a job to worry about first). Thanks, Dave DeLong

After updating to Mac Os X 10.4.9 iSnip crashes when starting up. Great little app. Stable and fast on my Intel machine. I've been using iSnip for a long time and recently installed it on my brand new Mac Pro. It's been working flawlessly without a single crash. This app is no longer being developed but, as is, it's extremely useful. My favorite feature: it allows me to insert text by either selecting my text from the menubar (pop-down window) or by simple drag & drop (from the "Snippet Manager" window). iSnip allows you to group your "snippets", assign each with a short name, and quickly edit them as needed. It's free and, though it'll never become "intel-compatible," it's stable and fast on my Intel mac.

It crashes out on my new MacBook under 10.4.6. Tried to delete its database and preference file, nothing worked. We need an UB version to get this working on Intel Macs I suspect.

I love this little app. Been using it everyday, all day, for many months. Only ever crashed on me one time that I can recall. Don't know if it's possible, but the option of a mini floating palette, if just to access the clip "history" would be neat, to have the ability to place it anywhere on the screen. Thanks - Ken.

Great little application. Wondering if it would be possible to include the option to customize the time & date formats. Formally written dates are a nice option. Or, at the very least you could allow a list of date formats to choose from (ie. ISO YYYY-MM-DD).

I like this program very much, especially since it resides in the menubar. Since I use Koolclip, I checked "Disable clipboard history" in Preferences and use iSnip exclusively for specific notes. Thanks a lot for this app!

excellent program, well done to the developers. Picture support in the text clipping field would be cool if possible. In the recent versions (1.4 and 1.3) i've been discovering a lot of the beach ball and a lot of hang when adding/deleting notes, 1.4 is the same as 1.3 in terms of this problem. Running under Mac OS X 10.3.8.

Why not make a contextual menu item that works together with iSnip? Then you don't have to move your mouse to the menu bar.

I've been using iSnip for several weeks. Now I can't live without. I was just wondering if I could delete (or iSnip would delete) overlapped items in the history menu. I tend to simply copy and paste words if I see them near cursor, instead of pasting them from iSnip. Thus in time all these same words accumulate in iSnip. This is sometimes counter-intuitive although I then fully realise what had happened.

What a simple and elegant solution to the clipboard situation! I have used, and continue to use, a number of other apps with a clipboard manager as part of the app, but I never use their clipboards - I always use iSnip. It's now got a permanent place on my task bar. Great work!

An absolutely perfect app! Nice little additions and improvements on a regular basis, works simply and efficiently, is incredibly handy, stays out of the way until I need it and, best of all, it's free! This is the best in Mac programming. Kudos to the author!

Fantastic little app !!! Love this and it is a worthy replacement and improvement on the old PTHPasteboard... I had been using the (somewhat not working sometimes) Quicksilver clipboard buffer but this is so much better it is no permanently residing in my menu bar. Amazingly simple and a greta piece of work ! Thank you !

This app now resides permanently in my menubar. I've tried so many clipboard apps till now and this is the most useful one. If I'm allowed to propose one extra feature then it would be the "reverse order" option in the history submenu. Currently I have to go all the way down to the bottom to reach the most recent item. This is quite a chore with a lot of items preserved.

I had the same dmg mounting problem, and also the zip version wouldn't open. I then downloaded it from this site and it works. I don't know what the problem was, a setting in my browser?? Program installed and works beautifully. This is a great app!

iSnip is evolving nicely. In 1.3, the "Limit History to N items" preference reverts to the default 20 between sessions. Also, new History snippets are still added at the bottom although it's been suggested it would be easier accessing them from the menu if the most recent snippets were on top.

Just fantastic. Used since 1.2 and it's one of those unobtrusive yet extremely useful little software. Small foot print, no unnecessary candy graphics to hog your CPU, nicely balanced package. First class!

Some guys just seem to be able to write software so elegant it's not only useful but a pleasure to use. Quicksilver's one example - looks like iSnip's another. Sheer class.

This is one of the greatest pieces of freeware I have ever seen; It has a clean intuitive interface, loads quickly, has a great price (what user could complain about free?) and is an overall great tool. It is a useful for programmers and other people who need/want this sort of organization. As far as improvements: since contextual menus are out, [1] I think the ability to customize the keyboard shortcuts for "Manage Snippets...","Create Snippet From Selection", and "Create Snippet From Clipboard" would be great. Thank you for a great application, keep up the good work! Also, please make more software, if you're good at this, I'm sure you can make MORE great stuff! Useful! I would love to see this software one day as a contextual menu plug in, in lieu of its current menu item option. Otherwise, exceedingly thoughtful of the developers to proffer us Mac users this effective and practicable software for free.
