its was working for me at first, actually for quite a long time. One day i couldnt find the little icon where you add the gifs and so after trying for a long time to find it i gave up and deleted deskfun. i tried downloading it again and again, but every time i download it, i still cant find that icon on my screen meaning i couldnt put up any gifs. If anyone knows how to fix this, pleaseeeeee help me out.

DeskFun has been around a long time. I've used it over the years to put image reminders, etc. embedded into my desktop without a bunch of overhead. It's always been rock solid stable and doesn't bog down your computer at all. It might be nice if it had a few more features like running QuickTime movies or something, but if that made it have more overhead in general it might not be worth it I guess. This is free, but it's nice to shoot the developer some money on paypal on the furrysoft website if you like this.

Do I really need or want a picture frame with the software logo on my desktop? No, I do not. The authors decision to keep one frame with his logo visible on my desktop at all times pretty much ruins this software. (It may be possible to remove or hide the frame with the logo, but it was not immediately obvious how to do that).

Excelllent Application! It would be nice if all pictures would be selected at once and closed at once. As for the drop, it would also be nice if several pictures could be dropped at once instead of one at a time.

Was running great until this morning. Booted up and it said it was expired. Grabbed the latest 0.5.1 and I still get the expired warning. Will there be a new drop soon? I really enjoy this app!

I found a problem in 0.5 that would only occur if DeskFun hasn't been installed ob that particular machine before. Since I replaced the old archive, please check the version number before you download it again; if it's already 0.5.1 you are fine.

crashes with this error "DeskFun.app/Contents/MacOS/DeskFun NSLookupSymbolInImage() dynamic library: /System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/HIToolbox.framework/Versions/A/HIToolbox does not define symbol: __GetPreviousMenu" (don't worry though, didn't send it to Apple ;-)

Nice app. It might be nice to have the placement of pictures remembered after a restart, rather than having to put them back manually every time.

I filled up a bunch of pictures on my desktop using desk fun on my iBook G4 and left my computer on for an hour or so. When I came back to my room... I noticed the fan was on, which I had never heard. I think Xresource Graph noted the temp at 143F on the CPUBottumSide, which I have never exceeded 120F with the thing on my lap. I quit Desk Fun and the fan turned off and the temp dropped to normal. I don't know if this is a thing of alarm, but it sure seemed to make my little iBook struggle.

Sorry, ordering frames was broken in 0.3.1. I removed the archive. Wait for the site update or replace 0.3.1 in link with 0.3.2. Broke that while fixing other stuff. I apologize to all of you that need to download it again.

Absolutely brilliant. Keeps getting better and better. Used to rely on PhotoStickies, but this one is barebones, just for photos. The new transparency option is just great. Thank you!

Very cool. All the options I asked for when I tried 0.1 are now in 0.3a. Very nice to see a dev who will listen to those that write him. I am enjoying this as I can have multiple images on my desktop with an abstract background behind all of it. Three images open with it and Activity monitor shows it is using 30 megs of real memory. Not light on the memory, but I have 1.25gigs, so I don't mind it. Keep up the improvements.

Why are people so darn picky. This is a wonderful little program. If the user doesn't have room on their monitor for the tiny drag and drop icon, they ought to get rid of that old Apple llC and fet a real computer. Great little program!

There is currently no way to hide the drop window. I will add a menubar item in a future version; thanks for the suggestion. In the meantime you can shrink the window to a small size and move most of it out of the visible desktop space. (A small border will have to remain visible.)

Interesting little program. Does what it says very easily. Pictures drop back behind all windows and icons on the desktop. One problem though, I couldn't figure out how (or if its possible) to hide the default floating image. It would be better if it simply added itself to a context menu for the desktop or as a menubar item so that it was out of the way when you are not editing it.
