QuickName is a program that is meant to be used to change the naming conventions of files. It is able to rename several thousand files in a few seconds. The main purpose of the program is to take a common letter or punctuation out of filename and change it something else more desirable. Files can also be named using Indexing.

This is quickest picture renamer application i have seen, I renamed 85 large digital pictures and saved them in different directory and it took less then a minute

As far as simple renaming goes, it works well without any problems. I haven't tested it thoroughly, yet, because I can't do so until there's an option to preserve my file comments.

I'll give it fives across the board if you'll add that feature.

Does QuickName work on Snow Leopard OS 10.6.2??

I've used QuickName 1.3.2 on OS 10.4.11 successfully, now upgraded to Snow Leopard and have some problems:

I've a folder full of images IMG_3401.jpg, IMG_3402.jpg....
and I want to rename them in Text_p000.jpg, Text_p002.jpg, Text_p004.jpg etc.

I did that on OS 10.4 with no problems (if I'm not absolutely mistaken), but now the order of the renamed files is completely messed up.

Can anyone help? QuickName is a very useful and powerful software - I'd like to continue using it...
