I really love this game! It took a few to get used to it's version of racing physics, but once I started to get it, it started to get more fun for me. I imagine that a wheel setup would be very good for this game, but I'm just not that much into gaming to have/want one.
All (most) of the cars stear/handle/sound quite different, as opposed to other racing games where only the cars skin changes. Some cars are better for some tracks (as in reality), and it's a pretty neat challenge finding which cars react best on a track.

The only drawback that I've seen is the VERY annoying requirement of unlocking/collecting cars/tracks. I like the ability to cheat in games, and this doesn't allow you to...but that's the only drawback I see.

I have Logitech WingMan Formula GP, and with this game I had feeling that this weel is digital.... Stear a little and car acts as I done full turn. ....and there are no any settings or options in game to set stering snesibility as in 4x4 EVO 2. ....shame.

Good graphics, but pure game, ...even with weel.

Its a nice try but they definitely missed the mark on this game.
- Only fords. No single manufacturer makes enough cars to have a game all to themselves, let alone ford.
- Steering is really bad. It's a very on/off type of steering control.
- Doesn't support controllers. I have in iShockII, and I had to use macally's keyboard mapping program because the game wouldn't use the controller directly. And macally's software is the worst app i've ever used, its a java piece of shit app, thats embarrassingly bad.
- Game has excessive load times and really poor menu design.
- Graphics are ok on my dual 1.8 G5, but on my 1.25 GHz iBook I really had to slim everything down just to get it to go, and even them it was really jump. I can't imagine this would work at all on a 700 Mhz G3
I don't recommend this game if your looking for a real good racing game. Get a PS2 and Gran Turismo. It doesn't get better than that.

Has anyone downloaded it for a G3 300Mhz with Mac OS X 10.2.8? Because if u do want to play it..dont bother. Sometimes they make the requirements a bit higher than what you need which i hoped they done for this game..but nope, u need everything it says...so dont bother if u dont have the requirements..

700MHz PowerPC G3 processor or faster (1GHz G4 or better recommended), 256MB of RAM (512MB recommended), 32MB VRAM video card

Why give the game a poor review just because it doesn't work on your system? I think the 1ghz G4 recommended is a good indication of how it would perform on a lower spec system.

I wouldn't call that a bad review, in fact, if he had been able to run it, there would have been every chance that it would have received nothing like 3 stars.

The fact is he shouldn't be rating something that he hasn't tried.

The game looked cool graphic wise but when I started actually driving ..... lol, the steering control was so unbelievably unrealistic I couldn't believe it. This games graphics look good but the games steering control is extremely stupid. Put simply, the game sucks.

Tested on an emac 1.25 ghz 512mb OS X 10.3.5

This is easily the best driving game I have played on a mac, looks and sounds great. Even when playing with keyboard the controls seem responsive, a good balance between realistic handling and not so hard as to be constantly crashing off. Shame there didn't appear to be any damage to cars, but it is still enjoyable (especialy driving the 4x4) and seeing it take off over the jump near the finishing line.

The demo lets you try 2 different cars on 2 different tracks, and also can alter difficulty settings. I think this is very good for a demo version, gives a good indication of what can be expected in the full version.

definetely worth a download, might be tempted to purchase full version.

Looks good but car is very difficult to control. Used a PS2 controller but a wheel may be better. No Command-Q to quit. Have to use the "Exit" menu option which you can "esc" key right past. only one car and truck in the demo.

It's an ok arcade racer, but the only thing that bothers me are the reflections of the game (the delay is like 0,5 sec!). i tried setting all the video preferences to the lowest, but it doesn't do any good.
